Book Description
This book captures in its pages the story of a first-generation entrepreneur’s struggles and victories. Vijay Kapoor, founder of the brand Derby Men’s wear, started his journey in the year 1994. Derby Men’s wear is a men’s apparel brand, popular in south India, with over sixty-eight stores, headquartered out of Chennai, India. Vijay Kapoor started his journey with two tailoring machines, a two-hundred square feet size store, a capital of two lakh rupees, a heart filled with dreams and a mind full of ideas. The purpose of sharing his story is to inspire people to reaffirm their faith in themselves. Nobody has it easy for himself or herself in life. No one gets everything right in his or her personal or professional lives from the start. Obstacles are not meant to block our progress. Challenges are meant to help us grow. Adversity is the time for innovation. A comeback after a setback is possible only if we don’t give up on ourselves. In these pages, a love story is narrated simultaneously. It is an unconventional story of how two individuals find love against all odds through a journey of self-discovery.

Book Description
In this book, the author brings history alive with the stunning tale of three interconnected-- but little-known-- events in American history. These are the Nazi plot during World War II to destroy the Horseshoe Curve; the FBI's search of the homes of 225 Altoonans on July 1, 1942 as "alien enemies" and the internment by the U.S. of 15,000 German and Italian Americans; and the personal and organizational drama of the founding of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the building of the Horseshoe Curve. This book seamlessly blends information from over 300 actual historical sources including FBI files acquired through the Freedom of Information Act.

Book Description
He Was Some Kind of a Man: Masculinities in the B Western explores the construction and representation of masculinity in low-budget western movies made from the 1930s to the early 1950s. These films contained some of the mid-twentieth-century’s most familiar names, especially for youngsters: cowboys such as Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, and Red Ryder. The first serious study of a body of films that was central to the youth of two generations, He Was Some Kind of a Man combines the author’s childhood fascination with this genre with an interdisciplinary scholarly exploration of the films influence on modern views of masculinity. McGillis argues that the masculinity offered by these films is less one-dimensional than it is plural, perhaps contrary to expectations. Their deeply conservative values are edged with transgressive desire, and they construct a male figure who does not fit into binary categories, such as insider/outsider or masculine/feminine. Particularly relevant is the author’s discussion of George W. Bush as a cowboy and how his aspirations to cowboy ideals continue to shape American policy. This engagingly written book will appeal to the general reader interested in film, westerns, and contemporary culture as well as to scholars in film studies, gender studies, children’s literature, and auto/biography.
