Book Description
Seminar paper from the year 2016 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 2.1 (A), University of West Scotland (Business School), course: Doctorate of Business Administration, language: English, abstract: There is no doubt of leaders’ existence and profound contribution in developing human civilization. History is littered with stories of many great leaders. Some are recognized for their dexterity in the battlefields, some perhaps for their business acumen or for inspiration for their employees. Whatever the reasons for fame, humans have recognized that the capability of an individual to make others take action and achieve goals makes them stand out in society. However, the question still remains - what is it that makes them different? Hence the purpose of this theoretical paper is to provide a review of the definition of leadership and of the three main theories of leadership, namely Trait, Behaviour, and Contingency Theory. The author then chooses a particular focus on Contingency Theory, which is analysed further.

Book Description
The clichés, “leaders are born, not made and leaders are made, not born” have been on the social sphere of leadership for quite a while. Is this a chicken-egg dilemma? Leadership generally has certain qualities that humans can point at, acting as conspicuous factors to be emulated. These qualities can either be innate or acquired. This paper looks at the role of traits in the leadership process. It focuses mainly on the trait theory, distinguishing the desired and the not so admired ones in as far as leadership is a concern. We also employ the great man theory to historically give flesh to where and how leadership has evolved to the 21st century. Transformational/charismatic leadership comes forth as the lottery winning mode to a sure way to a successful and productive form that leaders should have to deliver in this technologically advancing planet. We touched on Narcissist and Machiavellian types of leadership but only as contrary examples to the recommended. The paper is, therefore, a handy requirement for today's leaders. A snapshot for those wishing to guide others in the visionary path of leadership. Commitment, passion, empathy, honesty, integrity communication skills and decision-making capabilities can be learned and used to better the leader-follower relationship process. The business world and other forms of social governance are out of the stagnation of the great man theory of leadership. Flexibility in behavior, actions and thought make the best of a leader.

Completely revised and updated I not only enjoyed it...I found myself constantly nodding and saying to myself, 'That's right! That's how it's done! That's what it feels like!' Book Description
From an historical perspective, the trait approach represents an important advance in the study of leadership. It was one of the first efforts to apply rigorous research methods to the study of leadership. The trait approach was also an early attempt to answer the question of whether leaders are born or made. Based on their studies, trait researchers began to understand that even if dispositional characteristics exist that can make one an effective leader, there are many important leadership attributes that can be developed. The emergence of the five-factor model of personality was an important advance in the creation of an organizing framework for the traits thought to be important for effective leadership. Through the factor analysis of personality assessments, researchers found that personality traits can be grouped into five factors: Emotional Stability, Extraversion, Openness to Experience, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness. Research has found that four of these factors individually (i.e., Extraversion, Conscientiousness, Emotional Stability, and Openness) are positively related to leadership. The five factors in combination have been found to be predictors of leadership emergence and effectiveness. Because correlations between the five personality factors and leadership are typically found to be low to moderate, however, there are still questions about the true effects of personality on leadership.

Book Description
PREFACE Macedonian king Alexander the Great said, "An army of lions commanded by a lamb does not frighten me." On the contrary, I cannot say the same for the army of lambs commanded by a lion! Just as two suns cannot fit in the sky, two leaders cannot fit on the earth! There is nothing impossible for those who know how to try!” Alexander Alexander, commonly known as Alexander the Great, was the king of the Ancient Macedonian Kingdom between 336 and 323 BC. He was born in Pella in 356 BC, and at the age of 20, his father was killed by II. He succeeded Philip to the throne. Alexander the Great is one of the greatest military leaders in history. He became the head of the army at a very young age and learned a lot of philosophical knowledge from his teacher Aristotle. One of the things that made Alexander great was that he was one of the best students in the school founded by Aristotle. Alexander ruled about 18 states for 13 years. This success requires a motivation that is difficult to understand even today. This book aims to guide potential candidates who want to lead in the modern age and will help them understand some of the leadership styles they should follow. In the example given above, it has been revealed that what is important is to cultivate the spirit of leadership in a country and what a well-trained leader can achieve. The first step for book readers: After the leadership theory was put forward in the past, in the second step; Some of the key theories in the modern period are discussed. In the last step, Transactional Leadership, Transformational Leadership, Charismatic Leadership, Strategic Leadership, Servant Leadership, Toxic Leadership, Spiritual Leadership and Digital Leadership topics are presented.
