Book Description
When Private Investigator Jackson Douglas is approached by "history hunter" Joel Robinson with a legend about Crusader treasure, he is more than a little wary. But Joel seems legitimate and believes in Jackson's investigative skills. And he's paying very well. So Jackson joins Joel and his team in their pursuit to decipher the riddle of "The Holy Trinity," believed to be the key to locating the treasure. Questions loom over the expedition from the beginning. What exactly is the treasure? What power did the Crusaders believe it possessed? Why did they go to such great lengths to conceal it? Who else is after the treasure, and what danger do they pose to the team? And which of his teammates can Jackson trust . . . and which can't he? The quest will take Jackson from a prestigious art gallery in New York City to a secret vault high in the Alps to the very land the Crusaders and Muslims fought over centuries ago, testing his deductive abilities-and his faith-at every turn.

Book Description
Eighty years ago the largest genocide ever occurred in Nazi Europe. This began with the mass extermination of patients with neurologic and psychiatric disorders that Hitler's regime considered "useless eaters". The neuropsychiatric profession was systematically "cleansed" beginning in 1933, but racism and eugenics had infiltrated the specialty long before that. With the installation of Nazi-principled neuroscientists, mass forced sterilization was enacted, which transitioned to patient murder by the start of World War II. But the murder of roughly 275,000 patients was not enough. The patients' brains were stored and used in scientific publications both during and long after the war. Also, patients themselves were used for unethical experiments. Relatively few neuroscientists resisted the Nazis, with some success in the occupied countries. Most neuroscientists involved in unethical actions continued their careers unscathed after the war. Few answered for their actions, and few repented. The legacy of such a depraved era in the history of neuroscience and medical ethics is that codes now exist to protect patients and research subjects. But this protection is possibly subject to political extremes and individual neuroscientists can only protect patients and colleagues if they understand the dangers of a utilitarian, unethical, and uncompassionate mindset. Brain Science under the Swastika is the only comprehensive and scholarly published work regarding the ethical and professional abuses of neuroscientists during the Nazi era. The author has crafted a scathing tour de force exploring the extremes of ethical abuse, but also ways that this can be resisted and hopefully prevented by future generations of neuroscientists and physicians

Book Description
Graveyard Promises is the first installment of The Beadle Files, a hardboiled suspense series set in the Roaring Twenties. Prohibition is the law of the land. Social and economic fluctuations are sweeping across the country, and organized crime has become a volatile influence--it is the era of gangland infighting for territory and control of the flow of liquor. The main character in the ensemble cast is LC Beadle, a World War I foreign correspondent who is now stateside in Durango, Colorado. Following a lead, the newspaperman gets caught up in a murder mystery that has conspiratorial undercurrents involving the Chicago rackets. Trouble or the threat of it is an ever-present reality leaping off the pages like an aggressive terrier. Schemes and plotlines jump from the Backdoor Vault to Triad Medical to Rooster's Barnyard to Jewel's Tea & Spice Emporium to the Kilkenny Social Club. The narrative entwines around the life and times of a legendary lawman and his family. Supernatural elements are woven into the fabric of story arcs as the age-old war between good and evil continues unabated. Despair is at odds with hope while hints of tragedy lurk in the shadows. The words of Yaz Lightfoot, a deeply spiritual Lakota Sioux man, serve as an overarching theme: "Justice demands the fidelity of principled men."
