Book Description
It's year 11 after the Har-Megedon. Humanity survived 4 major world wars. During these years we have resurfaced as a species and we have worked hard in the healing and regeneration of our planet. We live in peace, union, harmony and development, but in other systems we still experience hostility. Ari, 16 year old, is a survivor of the bygone era. She study at the great academy TAE, where extrasensory skills learned will be of great help in an adventure that is about to take. Premonitory dreams about her death push her to enter the core of the main rebellion still existing in the Hermarmene (star systems that make up the Ananke sphere, structured by the 12 zodiacal constellations and 36 master star systems). Ari is accompanied by Guang, whose mother was kidnapped by the insurrection of Sirius B, and reason that leads them to get together to find answers. Their journey takes them to the legendary god Horus, with Osiris and Tot, who will guide them to get 4 gems that are hidden in Venus, Mars, Ganymede and Titan, and with which they can mentally control the 'Tilmun', the ship with which the atlantean god Tot erected the Great Pyramid of Gize. The kobali forces, led by Thirium Shen, wish to appropriate the Tilmun to reunite the great tyrants of Draco and Orion and destroy the Earth and face again the Confederacy. The adventure of Ari and her companions will go hand in hand with travel in time and alternative histories developed mainly in the past of the Earth to protect the Tilmun on the part of the Confederation, and steal it, on the part of the Betasirian rebellion. Gods, demi-gods, angels, demons, Ka-Bas (spirits) and magical creatures will play a part in this fascinating saga both in Towsang (our solar system) and throughout Jaleb (the Milky Way) and in AOR (super central galaxy of the local groups of the Mem universe).

Book Description
Like music, art is a universal language. Although looking at works of art is a pleasurable enough experience, to appreciate them fully requires certain skills and knowledge." --Carol Strickland, from the introduction to The Annotated Mona Lisa: A Crash Course in Art History from Prehistoric to Post-Modern * This heavily illustrated crash course in art history is revised and updated. This second edition of Carol Strickland's The Annotated Mona Lisa: A Crash Course in Art History from Prehistoric to Post-Modern offers an illustrated tutorial of prehistoric to post-modern art from cave paintings to video art installations to digital and Internet media. * Featuring succinct page-length essays, instructive sidebars, and more than 300 photographs, The Annotated Mona Lisa: A Crash Course in Art History from Prehistoric to Post-Modern takes art history out of the realm of dreary textbooks, demystifies jargon and theory, and makes art accessible-even at a cursory reading. * From Stonehenge to the Guggenheim and from Holbein to Warhol, more than 25,000 years of art is distilled into five sections covering a little more than 200 pages.

Book Description
What is a grimoire? The word has a familiar ring to many people, particularly as a consequence of such popular television dramas as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed. But few people are sure exactly what it means. Put simply, grimoires are books of spells that were first recorded in the Ancient Middle East and which have developed and spread across much of the Western Hemisphere and beyond over the ensuing millennia. At their most benign, they contain charms and remedies for natural and supernatural ailments and advice on contacting spirits to help find treasures and protect from evil. But at their most sinister they provide instructions on how to manipulate people for corrupt purposes and, worst of all, to call up and make a pact with the Devil. Both types have proven remarkably resilient and adaptable and retain much of their relevance and fascination to this day. But the grimoire represents much more than just magic. To understand the history of grimoires is to understand the spread of Christianity, the development of early science, the cultural influence of the print revolution, the growth of literacy, the impact of colonialism, and the expansion of western cultures across the oceans. As this book richly demonstrates, the history of grimoires illuminates many of the most important developments in European history over the last two thousand years.

Book Description
John Cage is the outstanding composer of avant-garde music today. The Saturday Review said of him: “Cage possesses one of the rarest qualities of the true creator- that of an original mind- and whether that originality pleases, irritates, amuses or outrages is irrelevant.” “He refuses to sermonize or pontificate. What John Cage offers is more refreshing, more spirited, much more fun-a kind of carefree skinny-dipping in the infinite. It’s what’s happening now.” –The American Record Guide “There is no such thing as an empty space or an empty time. There is always something to see, something to hear. In fact, try as we may to make a silence, we cannot. Sounds occur whether intended or not; the psychological turning in direction of those not intended seems at first to be a giving up of everything that belongs to humanity. But one must see that humanity and nature, not separate, are in this world together, that nothing was lost when everything was given away.”
