To the Present Time; Including a Complete History of England From That Era Thomas Sackville, was the fonof Richard Sack ville, Efq; by Winifred, the daughter of Sir John Bruges, lord-ma or of London. He was born at Buckhurll in Sul ex, the feat of the ancient family of the Sackvilles, in the year 1536; and it was from this feat he derived his baron's title of lord Buck hurlt. He was fent to Oxford, towards the latter end of the reign of Edward VI.' but he afterwards removed to Cambridge, where he took the degree of mailer. Of arts. Brom thence he came to Lon don, and entered 'into the law-fociety of the Inner. Temple; not with a view of following the pro feflion, but by the Itudy of the municipal law of the land, to qualify himfelf.for the public fervice of his country in parliament.
