Book Description
The Truth is Out! Be the first in your personal circle to actually know the facts about BP, the spill, and the cover-up. A former BP insider with a conscience has written a critically acclaimed and very powerful novel that exposes everything, answers all your questions, and provides a final solution. If you think you can handle the truth, prepare to be entertained, informed, and shocked. Has America sold its soul for BP dollars? Did a corrupt foreign corporation buy off our government, courts, media, and the scientific and academic communities? Who profited from history’s worst environmental disaster? Did BP spend $500 million to perpetuate a lie and suppress news coverage? Is our government involved in a cover up? Are cleanup workers dying from illegal toxic dispersants? Did our military provide deadly oil-eating microbes? Is the $20 billion compensation fund really coming from taxpayers? Would our Founding Fathers have allowed a foreign corporation to murder Americans, destroy a national treasure, and go unpunished? Two fired BP insiders and the women who love them set out to answer those questions and force BP out of America forever. Follow them around the world as they unravel an intrigue that only begins with the explosion. Join their life-and-death struggle as they become warriors in a 200-year-old battle between the world’s most powerful families, ... a fight they will win … and the world will lose.

Book Description
Recently, a variety ofresults on the complexitystatusofthegraph isomorphism problem has been obtained. These results belong to the so-called structural part of Complexity Theory. Our idea behind this book is to summarize such results which might otherwise not be easily accessible in the literature, and also, to give the reader an understanding of the aims and topics in Structural Complexity Theory, in general. The text is basically self contained; the only prerequisite for reading it is some elementary knowledge from Complexity Theory and Probability Theory. It can be used to teach a seminar or a monographic graduate course, but also parts of it (especially Chapter 1) provide a source of examples for a standard graduate course on Complexity Theory. Many people have helped us in different ways III the process of writing this book. Especially, we would like to thank V. Arvind, R.V. Book, E. May ordomo, and the referee who gave very constructive comments. This book project was especially made possible by a DAAD grant in the "Acciones In tegrada" program. The third author has been supported by the ESPRIT project ALCOM-II.

Book Description
The book consists of articles at the frontier of current research in Algebraic Topology. It presents recent results by top notch experts, and is intended primarily for researchers and graduate students working in the field of algebraic topology. Included is an important article by Cohen, Johnes and Yan on the homology of the space of smooth loops on a manifold M, endowed with the Chas-Sullivan intersection product, as well as an article by Goerss, Henn and Mahowald on stable homotopy groups of spheres, which uses the cutting edge technology of "topological modular forms".

Book Description
This volume brings together recent, original research and survey articles by leading experts in several fields that include singularity theory, algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. The motivation for this collection comes from the wide-ranging research of the distinguished mathematician, Antonio Campillo, in these and related fields. Besides his influence in the mathematical community stemming from his research, Campillo has also endeavored to promote mathematics and mathematicians' networking everywhere, especially in Spain, Latin America and Europe. Because of his impressive achievements throughout his career, we dedicate this book to Campillo in honor of his 65th birthday. Researchers and students from the world-wide, and in particular Latin American and European, communities in singularities, algebraic geometry, commutative algebra, coding theory, and other fields covered in the volume, will have interest in this book.

Book Description
This is the softcover reprint of the English translation of 1972 (available from Springer since 1989) of the first 7 chapters of Bourbaki's 'Algèbre commutative'. It provides a very complete treatment of commutative algebra, enabling the reader to go further and study algebraic or arithmetic geometry. The first 3 chapters treat in succession the concepts of flatness, localization and completions (in the general setting of graduations and filtrations). Chapter 4 studies associated prime ideals and the primary decomposition. Chapter 5 deals with integers, integral closures and finitely generated algebras over a field (including the Nullstellensatz). Chapter 6 studies valuation (of any rank), and the last chapter focuses on divisors (Krull, Dedekind, or factorial domains) with a final section on modules over integrally closed Noetherian domains, not usually found in textbooks. Useful exercises appear at the ends of the chapters.

Book Description
Among all areas of mathematics, algebra is one of the best suited to find applications within the frame of our booming technological society. The thirty-eight articles in this volume encompass the proceedings of the International Conference on Algebra and Its Applications (Athens, OH, 1999), which explored the applications and interplay among the disciplines of ring theory, linear algebra, and coding theory. The presentations collected here reflect the dialogue between mathematicians involved in theoretical aspects of algebra and mathematicians involved in solving problems where state-of-the-art research tools may be used and applied. This Contemporary Mathematics series volume communicates the potential for collaboration among those interested in exploring the wealth of applications for abstract algebra in fields such as information and coding. The expository papers would serve well as supplemental reading in graduate seminars.
