The Goldador is a relatively new breed of dog that has been developed within the last two decades. The Goldador is a mix of both the Labrador Retriever and the Golden Retriever. The aim of the breed's development was to create a sensitive, tolerant, intelligent and highly trainable working dog - the efforts proved to be highly successful! The Goldador is now considered one of the top choices for organizations that train guide and assistance dogs. Despite the Goldador's popularity as an assistance dog, the Goldador is not a popular household pet breed. As of January 2017, there are no breed clubs or breeding standards for the Goldador. The Goldador is a highly alert breed which also means that it makes an excellent watchdog, but the Goldador is also a highly inquisitive and friendly breed which means that it is not a very effective guard dog. The temperament of dogs is normally affected by the following factors: individual personality, heredity, training and socialization. It is therefore important to make sure that you meet the puppy's mother before purchasing a Goldador. It is also important to make sure to thoroughly socialize your Goldador with strangers, children and other animals during its puppyhood.
