‘Impossible to put down’ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‘Omg, omg, omg!!!!!... Spectacular’ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‘Absolutely amazing’ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‘I was hooked’ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ When Louise receives an invitation to her old friend Amy’s birthday weekend in a cottage next to the woods near their old college campus, a chill runs down her spine. Fifteen years ago, Hannah walked into those same woods and never came back. Her death destroyed her friends. They’ve not met as a group since. Until now. As the party gets underway, it becomes clear her friends knew more than Louise did about what happened to Hannah. The secret she knew that could ruin someone. The bad break-up. The threatening texts she'd been receiving. Perhaps it’s time for Louise to admit to herself that maybe someone wanted Hannah gone – and that maybe that’s why Amy has brought them all back together. When a game of truth or dare is proposed, the question arises: how far will someone go to keep their darkest secret buried? A gripping and addictive psychological thriller that will keep you turning the pages, for fans of Gillian Flynn, Teresa Driscoll and Ruth Ware. Readers are loving The Birthday Weekend: ‘Omg, omg, omg!!!!!... This book was spectacular. Oh my what a twisted read this was… I couldn’t put it down for the life of me. Tense. Suspenseful. Addictive. An absolutely amazing, brilliant, fast paced stunner of a story. Another wonderful thriller from this versatile, incredibly talented author. Highly recommended’ Renita D’Silva ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‘One of the best psychological thrillers I have read this year. It has been difficult to predict and impossible to put down, hence writing this review currently at 3am.’ NetGalley reviewer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‘A book I enjoyed from the first line all the way through… It was well set-up, and well executed. A Weekend to Change Your Life
Author: Joan Anderson
Publisher: Harmony
ISBN: 0767920554
Category : Self-Help
Languages : en
Pages : 274
Book Description
New York Times bestselling author Joan Anderson gives women practical advice and inspiration for building creative, independent, and fulfilling lives through discovering who they truly are and who they can be. Like Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, Joan Anderson’s bestselling A Year by the Sea revealed a far larger than expected constituency, in the form of thousands of women struggling to realize their full potential. After years of focusing on the needs of others as a wife and mother, Anderson devoted a year to rediscovering herself and reinvigorating her dreams. The questions she asked herself and the insights she gained became the core of the popular weekend workshops Anderson developed to help women figure out how—after being all things to all people—they can finally become what they need to be for themselves. A Weekend to Change Your Life brings Anderson’s techniques to women everywhere, providing a step-by-step path readers can follow at their own pace. Drawing on her own life and on the experiences of the women she meets at her workshops, Anderson shows women how to move beyond the roles they play in relationship to others and reclaim their individuality. Through illustrations and gentle instruction, she illuminates the rewards of nurturing long-neglected talents, revitalizing plans sacrificed to the demands of family life, and redefining oneself by embracing new possibilities. Wake Up, Sister. It’s Your Turn A full life requires cultivation. The minute we take our hands off the plow, fail to reseed, forget to fertilize, we’ve lost our crop. And yet, most women I know, while in the service of some greater good have let their very lives wilt on the vine. Having been taught the fine art of accommodation, most of us have developed a knack for selfless behavior. We’ve dulled our personal lives while propping up everyone else’s, and we’re no longer able even to imagine having any sort of adventure, romance, meaning, or purpose for ourselves. In short, we’ve gotten way off track and taken the wrong road to self-satisfaction, foolishly thinking that after all of the doing, giving, trying, and overworking someone will offer us a reward. But Prince Charming was a bad joke and all the fairy godmothers are dead. Instead of happy ever after, most of us end up with the ache. We wake up each day with an inner gnawing, a hunger for more, a craving for an overhaul, but we are too listless, tired, or depressed to do anything about it. We have spent the greater part of our lives pouring ourselves out like a pitcher. No wonder we feel so empty. But we lack the necessary energy, a helpful roadmap, and any type of guidance and support. Well, it’s time to change all of that. —From A Weekend to Change Your Life

The Girls Weekend
Author: Jody Gehrman
Publisher: Crooked Lane Books
ISBN: 1643853872
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 304
Book Description
“A brooding meditation on how friendships buckle when we resent other people’s success”—for fans of psychological thrillers by Ruth Ware and Lucy Foley (Washington Post). A riveting locked-room mystery about five college friends whose reunion takes a dark turn—and unearths even darker secrets and grudges. Their reunion just became a crime scene . . . June Moody, a thirty-something English professor, just wants to get away from her recent breakup and reunite with girlfriends over summer break. Her old friend and longtime nemesis, Sadie MacTavish, a mega-successful author, invites June and her college friends to a baby shower at her sprawling estate in the San Juan Islands. June is less than thrilled to spend time with Sadie—and her husband, June's former crush—but agrees to go. The party gets off to a shaky start when old grudges resurface, but when they wake the next morning, they find something worse: Sadie is missing, the house is in shambles, and bloodstains mar the staircase. None of them has any memory of the night before; they wonder if they were drugged. Everyone's a suspect. Since June had a secret rendezvous with Sadie's husband, she has plenty of reason to suspect herself. Apparently, so do the cops. A Celtic knot of suspense and surprise, this brooding, atmospheric novel will keep you guessing as each twist reveals a new possibility. It will remind you of friendships hidden in the depths of your own past, and make you wonder how well you really know the people you've loved the longest.

Book Description
The Community Book Project: 20/20 VisionThis is a "bigger book" in The Community Book Project series-one devoted to completing one decade and welcoming a new one. The vision: The idea was to bring together a number of writers to paint, with words, a picture of inspiration and vision for readers world-wide. It would include humorous and poignant stories of years' past, along with ideas for the future. The book would be buttoned up with essays of gratitude. The contributors would receive guidance and editorial feedback from a USA TODAY & WALL STREET JOURNAL bestselling and award-winning author, and then the essays would be collected in this volume. The contributors: We welcomed nearly 40 writers to this project. They came from all walks of life and from all around the world. It was such a joy and pleasure to get to know them, their writing styles and their stories. How it worked: After selecting a prompt, contributors were asked to write and submit "200 words-ish." The pieces were collected and reviewed by me, the editor. Some were good to go-and some were good to go with a few revisions. All contributors had an opportunity to stretch their "expression through writing" muscles and be a part of a greater community where they shared, laughed and inspired each other. This is the result-we do hope you enjoy it! Donna Kozik, creator and lead editor of The Community Book Project, is a USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling and award-winning author.
