Book Description
International flight restrictions, local stay-at-home orders, and a general fear of contracting and spreading COVID-19 through air travel had a sudden and profound effect on the U.S. aviation industry. According to Department of Transportation (DOT) statistics, passenger traffic in April 2020 was 96 percent lower system-wide than April 2019, and remained 60 percent below 2019. This book examines the immediate effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses across the aviation industry; actions those businesses took in response; actions the FAA took to help the industry respond to the pandemic; and the outlook for industry recovery, among other issues.

Book Description
The COVID-19 pandemic represents an extraordinary inflection point that caught airlines worldwide unprepared, causing CEOs to recalibrate their business models. This book explains why this unprecedented pandemic is different from the past disruptions experienced by the airline industry during the past 50 years, and what airlines and related businesses now can do to adapt to the dramatically changed marketplace. This book presents two future scenarios: continuous improvements and elastic supply. These are considered in three specific contexts for the rebuilding of the airline business. These contexts, in the order of urgency with respect to change from the status quo, are the following. The first context is for airlines to become better prepared to deal with frequent and deeper disruptions that could be localized or globalized relating to such areas as climate change, geopolitics, and cybersecurity. The second context is to collaborate and integrate within the much broader travel ecosystem, possibly using platforms to innovate on new value systems. The third context, which has always been the case and drives the first two, is for airlines to offer real solutions to people’s travel needs, solutions developed with imagination and turbocharged innovation, even as we contemplate new technology airplanes and mobility as a service solutions. This book is recommended reading for all senior-level practitioners of airlines and related businesses, as well as aviation policy makers worldwide.

Book Description
This book aims to illustrate the impact of COVID-19 on the global aviation industry and its many facets and disruptive innovations this crisis is bringing to the industry, triggering a new phase of development for air transportation. As a result, there has been increased attention on the green aviation industry using new sustainable fuels (including hydrogen). The aviation industry is also moving towards operating electric aircraft. The book emphasizes a new concept of air travel and an entirely new type of aircraft called eVTOL, which is to say - electric Vertical take-off and landing aircraft. This new reality is already taking place with the development of prototypes. However, the road to its implementation is full of challenges. The later part of the book focuses on how China has opened doors to the private aviation sector as the country foresees an enormous opportunity to push its internal economy and aviation industry further.

This book profiles preliminary findings on the impact of COVID-19 on the travel, tourism and hospitality sector. Starting with a narrative relating COVID-19 to the global development agendas, the book proceeds with a focus on global tourism value chains and linkages between COVID-19 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Other perspectives addressed in separate chapters include impacts of COVID-19 on various industries within the global tourism value chain including aviation, airports, cruise ships, car rentals as well as ride and share car services, hotels, restaurants, sporting, pilgrimage and religious tourism, gaming and entertainment, and the stock market. The book also includes chapters on corporate, philanthropic and public donations, as well as tourism economic stimulus packages. It then concludes with a chapter focusing on building back a better tourism sector post-COVID-19 that strongly draws from the Sendai Framework on Disaster Risk Reduction (2015-2030) and the disaster cycle. Book Description
This book addresses how Covid-19 has damaged businesses and how businesses can adapt to the new normal. In doing so, the book contributes to theories associated with the marketing management, by assessing opportunities and challenges associated with the implementation of technology and marketing management during and post Covid-19. Although there is increasing research in consumer or business management acceptance of new technologies and digital marketing, the impact of these on marketing management during the Covid-19 are not adequately investigated, leading to overstated hypothetical predictions of its future potential. Chapters in the book therefore focus on new economic models such as sharing economy and business structures such as omnichannel, where advancements have enabled firms to build a one-on-one relationship with customers by collecting, storing, aggregating and analysing customer information across various touchpoints. Contributions in the book also focus on new technologies such as blockchain, automation solution, information technology management, and customer relationship management (CRM) in highlighting connections between these new technologies and marketing management. The book will be useful for anyone aiming to gain a better understanding of the current and future technologies that may play a role or have a robust impact on marketing management during Covid-19.

Book Description
Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2020 in the subject Law - Miscellaneous, grade: A, Columbia International University, course: Aviation, language: English, abstract: In March of this year, the WHO and ICAO issued a joint statement containing updated recommendations on COVID-19 and civil aviation. This document reaffirms the commitment of these specialized UN agencies to expand international cooperation to curb the spread of the virus and protect the health of passengers. The statement notes the importance of States complying with ICAO and WHO standards related to the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases and the International Health Regulations (Reed para. 3-5). ICAO has issued two e-newsletters and one letter to member-states urging states-member to abide WHO recommendations and instructions. The ICAO letter to member states explicitly calls governments to implement the relevant provisions of Appendix 9 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention), apply for CAPSCA membership, increase funding for outbreak response and establish a national air traffic facilitation transportation committee. However, simplification of formalities does not mean restriction of the legal rights of passengers which in fact is introduced around the world.

Book Description
The aviation industry is one of the most negatively affected by the Coronavirus worldwide. As a quite globally oriented sector, which is very much based on international exchange, it is particularly difficult to minimize financial damage, which then has a negative impact on employees caused by consequences such as short-time work or redundancies. Therefore, the airlines' top priority is to return to normal operations as quickly and as well as possible. On the following pages, you will find out how this is being implemented and, above all, how the future prospects for the airlines and the employees working in the aviation sector worldwide looks like.

Book Description
The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has had a devastating impact on global aviation as nearly all air travel came to a halt in late March and April 2020. In Central Asia, virtually all domestic and international air travel were suspended in an attempt to contain the spread of COVID-19. This crisis provides an opportunity to reset the aviation industry in Central Asia Regional Cooperation (CAREC) countries through reforms, new strategies, and restructurings. This study of the pandemic’s impact on CAREC and the aviation industry looks at the gravity of the situation, explores opportunities, and offers some recommendations for dealing with the crisis and facilitating a fast recovery.
