Book Description
"THE WORLD'S MOST DANGEROUS BOOK!" "A timeless piece that would undoubtedly disrupt the plans of any authoritarian regime." "The Art of Guerrilla Warfare is a must read for anyone interested in military strategy." "A book that would make the great Sun Tzu proud." Fighting a superior foe is a momentous task. There are many ways it can be done, there are many ways victories can be achieved. In war, there are no rules, there are no laws, there are only strategies and tactics. Many say what they would do in the face of tyranny, many know what they should do when the powerful become predators. A divided people can be isolated and devoured. Survival depends upon the masses forming one mind. There is no time to weigh the importance of morality as the devil approaches. To even question any tactics that lead to victory is foolish. There is no need to ponder what the enemy deems acceptable, they occupy the opposite end of the spectrum for a reason. At war with a superior force, one has no choice but to assume the role of the guerrilla. Note: 2nd Edition refers to ebook being formatted as print replica. Text is similar to first edition. Book Description
The Art of War is an ancient Chinese military treatise dating from the Spring and Autumn period in 5th century BC. The work, which is attributed to the ancient Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu ("Master Sun," also spelled Sunzi), is composed of 13 chapters. Each one is devoted to a distinct aspect of warfare and how that applies to military strategy and tactics. For almost 1,500 years it was the lead text in an anthology that would be formalised as the Seven Military Classics by Emperor Shenzong of Song in 1080. The Art of War remains the most influential strategy text in East Asia.[1] It has a profound influence on Eastern and Western military thinking, business tactics, legal strategy and beyond.

Book Description
The WWII-era Art of Guerilla Warfare was a short training pamphlet which informed and influenced the guerrilla warfare training programs for: British Independent Companies (Commandos); Home Guard "Stay Behind" Auxiliaries ("Auxunits"); Special Operations Executive; Resistance groups in Europe; Australian and New Zealand Independent Companies; Australian Services Reconnaissance Department (Z Special Unit); Allied Intelligence Bureau's Philippines Regional Section; and finally US Office of Strategic Services. The pamphlet details the organisation and conduct of guerrilla warfare in occupied territories, from the establishment of a guerrilla band to intelligence collection and dissemination. It was influenced not only by Colin Gubbins' own experiences in Russia, Ireland and India, but also by his intensive study of guerrilla warfare in general, from the Boer commandos in South Africa during the Boer War, to the guerrilla operations in the Spanish Civil War and the then-ongoing Chinese Civil War and Sino-Japanese war, where Communist leader Mao Tse Tung was using guerrilla tactics to fight both the Chinese Nationalists and the invading Japanese. The Art of Guerilla Warfare and its companion volumes, The Partisan Leader's Handbook and How to Use High Explosives are unique in that they represent the first official British military doctrine on the conduct of guerrilla warfare against an occupying force. This they do in a brief and to the point manner, and if one reads closely, it becomes clear that there is still much wisdom contained within which could be of use to insurgent and counterinsurgent alike in the modern era. The pamphlets in this series are: The Art of Guerilla Warfare The Partisan Leader's Handbook How to use High Explosives Special Operations Executive Operational Stores Handbook

Book Description
The magnum opus of one of America's most respected military historians, The Art of War in the Western World has earned its place as the standard work on how the three major operational components of war--tactics, logistics, and strategy--have evolved and changed over time. This monumental work encompasses 2,500 years of military history, from infantry combat in ancient Greece through the dissolution of the Roman Empire to the Thirty Years' War and from the Napoleonic campaigns through World War II, which Jones sees as the culmination of modern warfare, to the Israeli-Egyptian War of 1973.

Book Description
The Art of War remains the most influential strategy text in warfare. It has a great influence on East Asian and Western military thinking, business tactics, legal strategy, sports and beyond. The Art of War is an ancient Chinese military treatise dating from the Spring and Autumn period. 2500 year old this classic work is attributed to the ancient Chinese general Sun Tzu ("Master Sun", also spelled Sunzi, born in 544 BC and died in 496 BC). The Art of War is 13 chapters book on Strategy. The Art of War was first translated and published into French in 1772 by the French Jesuit Jean Joseph Marie Amiot and a partial translation into English was attempted by British officer Everard Ferguson Calthrop in 1905 under the title The Book of War. The first annotated English translation was completed and published by Lionel Giles in 1910. Numerous military and political leaders such as the Chinese communist revolutionary Mao Zedong, Japanese daimyo Takeda Shingen, and American military general Norman Schwarzkopf, Jr. have drawn inspiration from the book. The Art of War is traditionally ascribed to Sun Tzu. It presents a philosophy of war for managing conflicts and winning battles. It is accepted as a masterpiece on strategy and has been frequently cited and referred to by generals and theorists since it was first published, translated, and distributed internationally. There are numerous theories concerning when the text was completed and concerning the identity of the author or authors, but archeological recoveries show The Art of War had taken roughly its current form by at least the early Han. Because it is impossible to prove definitively when the Art of War was completed before this date, the differing theories concerning the work's author or authors and date of completion are unlikely to be completely resolved. Some modern scholars believe that it contains not only the thoughts of its original author but also commentary and clarifications from later military theorists, such as Li Quan and Du Mu. On April 10, 1972, the Yinqueshan Han Tombs were accidentally unearthed by construction workers in Shandong. Scholars uncovered a collection of ancient texts written on unusually well-preserved bamboo strips. Sun Tzu's Art of War has influenced many notable figures. The Chinese historian Sima Qian recounted that China's first historical emperor, Qin's Shi Huangdi, considered the book invaluable in ending the time of the Warring States. In the 20th century, the Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong partially credited his 1949 victory over Chiang Kai-shek and the Kuomintang to The Art of War. The work strongly influenced Mao's writings about guerrilla warfare, which further influenced communist insurgencies around the world. In present edition of "The Art of War' in everyday English" We adapted the long-standing words of 2500-year-old Sun Tzu's Art of War to today's English keeping the original meaning intact.

Book Description
Gubbins argued that for guerrilla warfare to succeed it needed daring leadership and a sympathetic population. In his pamphlets he provided practical information on how to organize a road ambush, how to immobilize a railway engine and how to kill the enemy. By the outbreak of the Second World War Gubbins had reached the rank of brigadier. He joined the Special Operations Executive (SOE) and in November 1940 was appointed director of operations and training.

Title: The Art of War by Mao Tse-tung - Special Edition Book Description (formally called Annotation): This Special Edition of The Art of War by Mao Tse-tung contains his four most important discourses on warfare. The parallels between Chairman Mao's thoughts on strategy and those of Sun Tzu belie a direct lineage of culture and genius projected across twenty five centuries. First, Problems of Strategy in China's Revolutionary War, considers the rational and classical stratagems underlying the conduct of a successful war. Second, Problems of Strategy in Guerrilla War Against Japan, discusses the conduct of guerrilla actions relative to, and within, conventional warfare. Third, On Protracted War, deals with a wide range of topics including mobile warfare, guerrilla warfare, positional warfare, war of attrition and war of annihilation. Fourth, Problems of War and Strategy summarizes the lessons of the previous discourses and reiterates the famous dictum: Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. Other Special Editions in this series that deal with the subject of warfare and strategy include: The Art of War By Sun Tzu - Special Edition The Art of War By Baron De Jomini - Special Edition The Art of War & The Prince By Machiavelli - Special Edition
