The news reports of the day declared the "World Came to Knoxville" as it hosted the official international exposition, fully licensed and sanctioned by the Bureau des Expositions Internationales in Paris, France.

The 1964-1965 New York World's Fair was the largest international exhibition ever built in the United States.
