The Handbook also provides information necessary to evaluate equipment available for CBR protection, including gas masks, personal filter masks, and air filters. The protective characteristics of equipment must be matched to the characteristics of CBR to ensure adequate protection. Attack indicators can serve as a first alert if the sights, sounds, scent, sensations or dissemination equipment are known and recognized. Guidelines for analyzing risk based on geographic location and international visibility, and for assessing vulnerabilities based on site characteristics and business profiles are presented.
