Book Description
My goal is to convince you, the reader, to take the time to smell the roses, witness the miracles of nature, and permit science to be your best evidence of a higher being without interfering with your current or preconceived notions about your Creator. Your beliefs and your image of God should be left in tact, your faith reinforced by all that you see, hear, feel, and experience in a world made for you by your Creator, not likely the result of some big bang or evolutionary theory of biological evolution, but the product, the result if you will, of a mastermind who meticulously invented, designed, and cultivated the blessing we all share which is life. So, without my burdening you with volumes of verse and verbiage, let me stimulate your thought process in as few words as possible and share with you common questions, experiences, and observations. Just as the Bible rambles on without apparent literary transition, I will follow the writing style of the prophets who wrote each scriptural proverb and verse in the greatest story ever told (the Bible). Perhaps well recognize that we are all here for a reason and that we share a world that we can identify with, and somewhat comprehend, in the context of the mystery of what we understand or dont understand.

Book Description
In ancient Egypt during the magnificent eighteenth dynasty the Pharaoh Akhenaten and his queen, the strong and beautiful Nefertiti, are engaged in a dramatic battle against the wealthy, corrupt and dangerously powerful priests of Amun. Haunting and full of surprises, Akhenaten: Son of the Sun gives a fascinating glimpse into an ancient civilisation. It is a story about hate and love, despair and hope, but more than that it is the story of extraordinary spiritual and psychic powers being tested to their limits. Akhenaten: Son of the Sun is part of Moyra Caldecott's magnificent Egyptian sequence. Don't miss Hatshepsut: Daughter of Amun, Tutankhamun and the Daughter of Ra and The Ghost of Akhenaten.

Book Description
The Willi-Waw lay in the passage between the shore-reef and the outer-reef. From the latter came the low murmur of a lazy surf, but the sheltered stretch of water, not more than a hundred yards across to the white beach of pounded coral sand, was of glass-like smoothness. Narrow as was the passage, and anchored as she was in the shoalest place that gave room to swing, the Willi-Waw's chain rode up-and-down a clean hundred feet. Its course could be traced over the bottom of living coral. Like some monstrous snake, the rusty chain's slack wandered over the ocean floor, crossing and recrossing itself several times and fetching up finally at the idle anchor. Big rock-cod, dun and mottled, played warily in and out of the coral. Other fish, grotesque of form and colour, were brazenly indifferent, even when a big fish-shark drifted sluggishly along and sent the rock-cod scuttling for their favourite crevices.

As the wrath of the gods is invoked, Sol unearths lies and long-hidden secrets about her past that could change everything. While treading these predatory waters, her choices and her life will become intertwined with the salty scoundrels aboard. Will Sol be able to rely on the very men she has been contending with or will the price of their alliance come at a far greater cost than the gold they seek?

Book Description
"How much of our fate is tied to the status of our parents and grandparents? How much does this influence our children? More than we wish to believe! While it has been argued that rigid class structures have eroded in favor of greater social equality, The Son Also Rises proves that movement on the social ladder has changed little over eight centuries. Using a novel technique -- tracking family names over generations to measure social mobility across countries and periods -- renowned economic historian Gregory Clark reveals that mobility rates are lower than conventionally estimated, do not vary across societies, and are resistant to social policies. The good news is that these patterns are driven by strong inheritance of abilities and lineage does not beget unwarranted advantage. The bad news is that much of our fate is predictable from lineage. Clark argues that since a greater part of our place in the world is predetermined, we must avoid creating winner-take-all societies."--Jacket.
