Book Description
Self-help gurus, life coaches and business consultants love to tell us that we must strive for constant self-improvement to realize our full potential and become truly happy. But it doesn't seem to work - for many of us, life still seems hollow and meaningless. So focused are we on personal development and material possessions that we've overlooked the things that make life truly fulfilling and worthwhile. So how do we figure out what's really worth striving for? In this compelling follow-up to his bestselling book Stand Firm, Danish philosopher and psychologist Svend Brinkmann shows us that the important things in life are those with intrinsic value, like goodness, freedom, truth and love. We should stop asking 'what's in it for me?', and turn our attention outwards to our friends, families and communities. By putting others first and embracing these unconditional principles, or standpoints, he argues, we can find a more meaningful and sustainable way of living.

Book Description
Hook Point: How to Stand Out in a 3-Second World, by out of the box thinker Brendan Kane, breaks down the most effective strategies to generate new opportunities, innovate and scale your business, and create a compelling brand--both online and off--so you can thrive in the new micro-attention world in which we live. A lot of people know who they are, what they do, and a few even know why they do it--but even when brands or individuals have clarity in these areas, they often struggle to grab a potential audience's attention for long enough to get them to learn about their attributes. Others have amazing products or services that fail to achieve great success because they don't know how to talk about what they do effectively. This is because digital and social media have reshaped our world into one of micro-attention. There are over sixty billion messages shared on digital platforms each day, and the average person is exposed to between four thousand to ten thousand ads a day. This bombardment of stimuli has changed the way we communicate and market content both online and off. In fact, research shows that you have less than three seconds to capture a person's attention. With such a short window of time, we need to hook audiences quickly, efficiently, and consistently if we want to successfully fuel brand awareness and growth. Luckily, Brendan Kane, an out of the box thinker and strategist who's built platforms for celebrities like Taylor Swift and Rhianna, and worked with Fortune 500 companies like Paramount, Viacom, and MTV has mastered the art of standing out. In Hook Point: How to Stand Out in a 3-Second World he reveals the power of hook points--a communication tool that helps marketers package their messages in a succinct, attention-grabbing way that leads to better opportunities both online and off. Whether you're promoting a brand, product, or service this book is the essential guide for making it in our three-second world.

Book Description
This project offers a new leadership framework for the next generation of nonprofit professionals. Based on five years of data collected from the New York Community Trust Leadership Fellowship - designed to address leadership development gaps in the nonprofit sector - it constructs three dimensions and eleven themes for the theory and practice of leadership standpoints. Leadership standpoints are a framework for practicing inclusion, building spaces for performance, and thinking and acting with range. Those using leadership standpoints continuously interact with diverse stakeholders, constantly verify others' views and interests, and remain keenly attentive to power distributions, material constraints, and hidden or unacknowledged voices that need surfaced, while expanding their personal and social outlooks to elevate performance and meet pressing demands best addressed through broadly informed decisions. This title is also available as Open Access on Cambridge Core.

Book Description
Bachelor Thesis from the year 2021 in the subject Economics - Monetary theory and policy, grade: 1,3, University of Frankfurt (Main), course: Wirtschaftswissenschaften, language: English, abstract: This thesis aims at giving a broad outlook on fiscal discussions and standpoints concerning crises which might occur and ultimately aims at answering the following question: How can financial authorities shape public spending and what are the steps necessary? – Lessons learned from the global financial crisis of 2008. The Keynesian multiplier process is a concept which was first introduced by Richard Kahn and later on carried further by John Maynard Keynes. This concept was rather simple and very intuitive; if a government increases its spending, the resulting output will increase as well. This became especially relevant in times of crises, when governments were aiming at raising their output. The analysis of how government spending would affect output became omnipresent and there are different standpoints in the literature concerning this, most of them focusing on different aspects, such as the timing of news, spillover effects to other countries, the general environment of the economies and also different model approaches to estimate said multiplier as good as possible and to include as many different determinants as possible.
