This book poses questions about what community is, how to reclaim community, and how to embark on the process of envisioning what and where the community can be. The subject of the book is the semiotics of a pre-Columbian writing system based on the use of ideographs. It contains the results of systematic multi-year research to elucidate the meaning of three geometric motives used by the Moche culture in Peru and throughout the Americas by pre-Columbian cultures including those of Mexico.
