Book Description
I have a butterfly mind... It is hard for me to keep on one thought at a time. This book, SPINSENSES is the result of creating a fishing attractor that I recently patented. SPINS was going to be a fishing lure, but quickly turned into an attractor when I realized it could be in a smaller separate category of fishing paraphernalia and would be more versatile as an attractor coupled with various baits and lures. Much of information is in the form of bullet points to peak your curiosity. Question everything! Research and Read! Then apply what you have learned! Fishermen will buy anything they think will help them catch fish faster. But, they also know what works... lures like: Flatfish; Rapalas; Mepps Spinners; Dare Devils; Rooster-tails; Plugs; etc. or baits like Worms; Hellgrammites; Herring; Water-dogs; Shiners; etc. Sadly, SPINS does not apply to fly fishing my favorite way to spend time on the water because of its weight and wind resistance when casting. It is great for trolling a wet scented fly. I want to help you catch more fish by adding a SPINS ATTRACTOR in front of your favorite bait or scented lure by adding the Electroreception sixth-sense of "Force" that is felt thru a fish's lateral lines. Each SPINS has a 4" stainless steel wire to trail a bait or scented lure of your choice. SPINSENSES was written for critical thinking fishermen who want to know more about fishing and fishing. It expands a fisherman's world by delving into information concerning our Unfathomable Oceans; Amazing Water; Mystery Animals; Human Uniqueness; and over 500 fact, tips and secrets on fishing. SPINSENSES will show you how "critical thinking" can be applied to fishing and make you a better angler. It may also open your eyes to everything else that is important in your life - if you have the patience and take the time to really see and understand what is happening around you. Author -

Book Description
"A first-principles discussion of the fundamental neutron interactions . . . the writing is clear, and the explanations stress essential physical principles . . . an excellent survey."—Physics Today "A must for libraries of all universities and laboratories that are engaged in nuclear physics, particle physics, nuclear energy, astrophysics or condensed matter research . . . an outstanding multidisciplinary introduction to the physics and applications of cold neutrons."—Physics World "So many tables, facts and figures . . . the coverage is remarkable."—American Scientist This encyclopedic reference work covers nearly every conceivable aspect of neutron physics. Assembled by an expert in the field, it ranges from the neutron's role as a major element in tests of the standard model of astro-particle physics to its use in nuclear energy generation and the study of condensed matter systems. The multidisciplinary approach includes detailed treatment of strong, weak, and electromagnetic properties of the neutron as well as parallel developments in cosmology and astrophysics. Each subject is placed within its scientific context and receives considerable attention to historical detail.

Book Description
To the eyes of a chemist, carbon is certainly one of the most fascinating elements of the periodic table. Basically, the electronic structure and atomic size of carbon enables this element to form a variety of bonds with other elements and, most importantly, with other carbon atoms as weIl. These unique features lead to the amazingly complicated molecular structures we encounter e. g. in life sciences and organic chemistry. Of course, the technical importance of carbon is enormou- but I don't want to carry too many coals to Newcastle. Prom the viewpoint of an astrophysicist or chemist, the significance of carbon lies in the fact that it is the most abundant condensable element in space. Born in the interior of stars, and from there expelled into the interstellar medium, it initiates the formation of simple and complex molecules and of nanoscopic grains. These in turn form huge clouds in space - the birthplace of new stars and planetary systems. The decisive role of carbon in interstellar chemistry is widely accepted and the search for more and more families of interstellar carbon-bearing molecules is a topic of ongoing research. The interdisciplinary aspect of carbon also concerns its various solid forms, in which C and the other closed-cage fullerenes are certainly some of the most popular 60 newcomers.

Book Description
Fundamentals of In Vivo Magnetic Resonance Authoritative reference explaining why and how the most important, radiation-free technique for elucidating tissue properties in the body works In Vivo Magnetic Resonance helps readers develop an understanding of the fundamental physical processes that take place inside the body that can be probed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), uniquely bridging the gap between the physics of magnetic resonance (MR) image formation and the in vivo processes that influence the detected signals, thereby equipping the reader with the mathematical tools essential to study the spin interactions leading to various contrast mechanisms. With a focus on clinical relevance, this book equips readers with practical knowledge that can be directly applied in medical settings, enabling informed decision-making and advancements in the field of medical imaging. The material arises from the lecture notes for a Stanford University Department of Radiology course taught for over 15 years. Aided by clever illustrations, the book takes a step-by-step approach to explain complex concepts in a comprehensible manner. Readers can test their understanding by working on approximately 60 sample problems. Written by two highly qualified authors with significant experience in the field, In Vivo Magnetic Resonance includes information on: The fundamental imaging equations of MRI Quantum elements of magnetic resonance, including linear vector spaces, Dirac notation, Hilbert Space, Liouville Space, and associated mathematical concepts Nuclear spins, covering external and internal interactions, chemical shifts, dipolar coupling, J-coupling, the spin density operator, and the product operator formalism In vivo MR spectroscopy methods MR relaxation theory and the underlying sources of image contrast accessible via modern clinical MR imaging techniques With comprehensive yet accessible coverage of the subject and a wealth of learning resources included throughout, In Vivo Magnetic Resonance is an ideal text for graduate students in the fields of physics, biophysics, biomedical physics, and materials science, along with lecturers seeking classroom aids.
