Book Description
Excerpt from Message of His Excellency Levi Lincoln: Transmitted to Both Branches of the Legislature, January 7, 1829 In reference to a permanent relief of the Treas ury, to some extent, the propriety of taxing the business in the Probate Courts, towards the ex pense of that part of the administration of the law, is suggested. In every other department of juris prudence, the charges are, at least, partially de frayed, in the shape of fees for the entry of actions, trials, &c. The present time is preeminently favorable to a faithful and successful discharge of official obligations.
