ISBN:
Category : Equations of state
Languages : en
Pages : 18
Book Description
This paper explains the differences and the reasons for the differences which exist between the theory of the zone-transport system of continuous zone refining as presented by W. G. Pfann and T. Abe. The identity between the mathematical model used to describe the zone-transport system and one of the models used to describe the recently reported matter-transport system is noted. Nondimensional equations for the zone-transport system are presented and the difference between the limit of alpha in the zone-void and zonetransport systems, when L sub e = 0, is correlated. (Author).

State - Logic Relations in an Iterative Structure for Autonomous Sequential Machine
Author: William F. King (III)
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Cellular automata
Languages : en
Pages : 30
Book Description
The state-logic relations are determined in an iterative structure for any autonomous sequential machine. A model (unlike that of Mealy) is used in which delay is distributed throughout the machine. Theorems are presented which prescribe the interconnection of identical elements to realize any autonomous sequential behavior. Synthesis, as described here, yields a more costly machine in terms of delay elements than those of previous workers. In addition to the iterative structure, increased speed of operation is the advantage bought by the extra delay elements.

A Study of Band Edge Distortion in Heavily Doped Germanium
Author: Freeman D. Shepherd (Jr.)
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Energy-band theory of solids
Languages : en
Pages : 98
Book Description
Details of the energy band structure of degenerate n-type germanium were determined by analysis of fine structure in the 4.2K volt-ampere characteristic of germanium tunnel diodes. No shift in the relative energy of the conduction band minima was observed. The band edge is found to be exponentially distributed with 1/e energies of the order of 10 MeV. There appears to be an ordering mechanism among the group V impurity atoms used as substrate dopants. (Author).

DEBUG - An Extension to Current Online Debugging Techniques
Author: Thomas G. Evans
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Computer programming
Languages : en
Pages : 16
Book Description
A method for online assembly-language debugging which greatly simplifies several of the bookkeeping tasks characteristically associated with that process has been developed and implemented in a program for the UNIVAC M-460 computer at Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories. With this program, an online user may insert or delete (in symbolic assembly language) any number of lines at any point in his previously assembled program in core, with the remainder of the program being relocated appropriately.
