Fred Glick was born in Leindenback, Germany on 29 October 1841. His father was John Frederick Sr. and Christina Klink Glick. Fred came to America alone in 1861. After serving in the war, Fred met Margaret Glasser, who had been in the United States ten years before he came. Fred and Margaret settled in Kansas after living in St. Joseph, Missouri which they considered their first home in America. The couple had ten children. Margaret died in 1928 and Fred died in 1934.
