Left as a newborn to die in a dumpster, she has no name. Tossed from state run orphanages to a string of foster homes, she has no family. Growing up hard, fast and street smart, she’s accomplished in hand to hand combat and accurate with a gun. With no money for college, she enlisted in the US Marine Corps out of high school and was quickly plucked from her unit when her sharp shooting and intellectual skills outshined her male counterparts. With no known past, she is deemed a perfect fit to a task force Washington denies exists. A selective assassin for the United States government, Jane Doe tracks known terrorists on domestic soil. Dispatched to Atlanta, Georgia with a kill assignment, Jane is tracking number Thirteen on The List. Her cover is secure in the library where she volunteers and her identity quiet until a journalist shows up on a tip to research a name and number she knows well—Three. Now she’ll be forced to choose between the target she desperately wants to eliminate for personal reasons and the assignment she’s been given, all while keeping the reporter from getting himself killed or worse, falling for Jane. Possessing a fertile imagination and a penchant for executing improvised but brilliant plans, Jane is a killing machine with ice running through her veins. Every time she goes to a different town, two things are certain: she’ll have a new name and someone is going to die.

Book Description
She’s back. No name. No regrets. No mercy. For almost seven years, Jane Doe has lived in the shadows, her past buried deep beneath layers of secrecy and silence. After completely more than was asked of her in her last assignment for the enigmatic Coywolf project, she vanished without a trace, leaving behind a trail of dead bodies and unanswered questions. But now, as the specter of her past returns with a vengeance, Jane finds herself thrust back into a world she thought she’d left behind forever. Book Description
Inspired by actual events. From 1911 to 1933, 166 patients, mostly mentally challenged girls, left the Rosewood Asylum for the Feeble Minded outside of Baltimore, Maryland under writs of habeas corpus to unknowingly become slaves for the bluebloods of Baltimore society. When it was finally discovered, only 102 girls could be accounted for—the other 64 were never located or heard from again. When Eliza Lovelace bought a turn of the century home in Baltimore, her only wish was to bring the building that seemed to call to her, back to life. A novelist and part-time house renovator, she and her artist boyfriend, Ray, have decided to give their on again-off again relationship the loving care it deserves by moving in together, and away from New York City. But the house on Park Avenue is filled with secrets and when strange things start happening, Eliza becomes unknowingly entangled in a monovalent past and entwined with another soul. Staring down the face of pure evil, something inside the beautiful home she’s mortgaged her life on wants her dead. Between the world that Eliza can see and the one she can only feel, lies the truth of Park Avenue. Can the shared bond between two women separated by one hundred years be the key to saving both their souls? After all, one girl’s dream could be another’s nightmare.

Book Description
Video art emerged as an art form that from the 1960s and onwards challenged the concept of art - hence, art historical practices. From the perspective of artists, critics, and scholars engaged with this new medium, art was seen as too limiting a notion. Important issues were to re-think art as a means for critical investigations and a demand for visual reconsiderations. Likewise, art history was argued to be in crisis and in need of adapting its theories and methods in order to produce interpretations and thereby establish historical sense for moving images as fine art. Yet, as this book argues, video art history has evolved into a discourse clinging to traditional concepts, ideologies, and narrative structures - manifested in an increasing body of texts. Video Art Historicized provides a novel, insightful and also challenging re-interpretation of this field by examining the discourse and its own premises. It takes a firm conceptual approach to the material, examining the conceptual, theoretical, and methodological implications that are simultaneously contested by both artists and authors, yet intertwined in both the legitimizing and the historicizing processes of video as art. By engaging art history’s most debated concepts (canon, art, and history) this study provides an in-depth investigation of the mechanisms of the historiography of video art. Scrutinizing various narratives on video art, the book emphasizes the profound and widespread hesitations towards, but also the efforts to negotiate, traditional concepts and practices. By focusing on the politics of this discourse, theoretical issues of gender, nationality, and particular themes in video art, Malin Hedlin Hayden contests the presumptions that inform video art and its history.

Book Description
In this first book-length study of lesbian s/m, Lynda Hart creates a vivid and compelling counterdiscourse to the erotophobic voices in contemporary cultural debates. Focusing on a variety of representations, from the boundary-shattering work of queer performances to the daring conjunction of childhood sexual abuse and perverse desire in the work of Dorothy Allison, Between the Body and the Flesh situates s/m as a lightning rod that stimulates discussions of censorship in the arts, the fetishization of sexual paraphernalia, recombinations of class, race, and sexuality, and the politics of psychoanalysis.
