Book Description
SƆRAMBLƎD exemplifies the struggles faced by many individuals with learning disabilities. Its main character - Matt Walsh - is a twenty-something adult whose learning disability is the root cause of persistent angst, frustration and turmoil as he tries desperately to achieve, to succeed both in his career - and in his personal life. The novel attempts to describe Matt's inner-most thoughts as he works to better himself and overcome his skill deficits. His anxiety - and life's common distractions - often get the better of him as he strives to move up the ladder toward career security. In addition to coping with his work-related issues, Matt has fallen in love with Sarah - a beautiful and talented woman with a budding medical career. She is fully aware of Matt's learning issues, loves him for his perseverance and his innate talents, and supports his desire and efforts at improvement. But, Matt's love for Sarah causes him additional anxiety. He needlessly worries that he can't meet her expectations. And he fears moving forward with her until he can provide financially for her and the family they both want. The pages of SƆRAMBLƎD will show you how Matt perseverates on his difficulties. You'll meet individuals who play a role in Matt's life, realize the opportunities they present, and learn how Matt reacts to them. You'll see how his strength of will helps him succeed and how his fears almost undo all of his hard work. And you'll see how his intense love for Sarah both energizes and nearly paralyzes him. In the end, does Matt truly succeed? Is he able to gain control over his learning, his career, his personal life? These questions, and more, are all answered in "SƆRAMBLƎD."

Book Description
Love was in the air. People everywhere were being matched by a magic mirror, and falling in love. Silas watched his family grow larger from all the marriages and children. He wondered when his time would come, but a part of his mind couldn’t let go of a memory from long ago, of a beautiful girl. He called her his woodland sprite, but where had she gone, and would he ever see her again? May struggled against the unwanted advances of the man her mother wanted her to marry. She did not love him. Her memories were full of the vision of a boy she loved from afar, but her family had left that place long ago. She never expected to see him again, especially not in the reflection of the magic mirror. She knew she loved him, but following her heart meant leaving her family and returning to the home they left behind. Could their love be strong enough to withstand the wrath of her mother and become more than just a memory?

Book Description
It was a conscious decision, while reading Henry Miller's somewhat obscure book called The Time Of The Assassins and then getting into Rimbaud's Illuminations, it was a decision to write from my unconscious, and Hermitically as well. It was a difficult time when I first started on these writings, but I'm glad I wrote it down because the past vanishes practically into the vast blue nowhere, time is such a sneaky weasel. Its been a heck of a ride. Gradually though I become less introverted and the poems I think, their content and form, become more and more public, almost a kind of journalism, away from the freaky trapped scared and half nutshell crazed. Also around the time I started writing these poems I was catching my first real and protracted study of philosophy, in particular Nietzsche's The Birth of Tragedy. And technically as well as the ideas astounded me, really, and it really felt great to be able to read and then write, hoping to run parallel with philosophy and whatnot. This then, these precarious poems where walking the plank is for real, is..my attempt to climb out of my self, the ole mind-cage of lonesome fears, the shadowland, and enter in into the now of the implacable hub of no perspective but that of now. If there is a message to these poems its probably just in the inherent fact that one exists, lives, delves under and to, the very heart where mind and soul dance that eternity dance of one any how, way, and who.
