Book Description
If you know me, you know about my love of the critters that come visit me almost every day. Of course, I am closest to my sweet friend, “Little squirrel” that visits me every night at 5:00pm for his peanuts. The minute he hears me shake the peanut bag he knows it is “din din” time and all but trips over his own little paws to get to the tree where I place the peanuts on a concrete block that sits at the bottom of his tree! He loves watching me as much as I enjoy watching him! I also have 2 feral cats; a little gray kitten and a big ole’ long haired black cat with a white chest that looks very handsome and formal in his “tuxedo” when he comes to eat each day. He always looks like he is bored with life when he looks at me with his large deep set orange eyes. Little gray kitten just loves picking on him too! These two are so funny! They always keep me amused. Oh! I have the cutest bunny ever that hops through my side yard every day (especially when we plant our garden!). My bunny is so adorable! He looks just like a precious brown and white Easter Bunny! And I can’t forget my redheaded woodpecker. He is HUGE! He is either up in a tree pecking on the bark, or working on the tree stump in our side yard; helping us take it to the ground. He is a handy fellow to have around! With this being said, the sweet little characters in my book are written after real ones that visit me each day in my yard. They make my front porch my happy place! I hope you enjoy reading “OH My Little Squirrel” and following my Little squirrel’s adventures as much as I enjoyed writing about them!

The Lessons of Petunia Rabbit
Author: Della Long Halper
Publisher: Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
ISBN: 164416521X
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 455
Book Description
Petunia is a story about guilt, loss, and redemption. I wrote Petunia because it had been my professional experience that guilt and the difficulty in managing that emotion is perhaps the most ubiquitous bane of both children and young adults. In a sizable percentage of cases, the guilt acquired in childhood is still undiminished by those who have reached full adult and even older adult ages. Although guilt is experienced by most people at some time in their existence, there are simply too few guidelines when it comes to working through the discomfort that most feel when guilt becomes a part of their everyday thinking and feeling. One of the more prevalent challenges encountered in the education and care of today's child is the responsibility parents and teachers undertake as they struggle to impart sensible and lasting guidelines in behavior choices. The story of Petunia Rabbit provides an enjoyable matrix through which the caretaker has a basis for this undertaking. Petunia's story demonstrates that even in the most dire of circumstances, faith, structure, and tradition continue to be of lasting importance in the life of the developing child and ultimately becomes the sanctuary for the self-hatred felt by a surprising number of youngsters and young adults in all levels of our society. Many of today's children are overly protected in some venues but exposed to unacceptable (age inappropriate, pointlessly violent) material as seen in video games, on their computers, on television, and in films. The core event in Petunia's story is a huge flood that devastates her family's life and those of most of the characters included in the story. Using a natural disaster as the impetus for events was a purposeful choice in that most individuals are able to identify with those events that result in the probability of altered lives and fortunes. And while devastating, natural disasters are not the result of purposeful or directed cruelty. The story of Petunia provides an excellent basis of learning from models within the family and in society. Petunia's story demonstrates the following: 1. The necessity of a personal belief system to augment and strengthen individual coping abilities and societal structures, which are often lost during chaotic events. 2. The importance of fostering reliability, competence, caretaking, and self-respect 3. The value of developing an awareness of the feelings and struggles of others. 4. The risk and uncertainty associated with impulsive behaviors. 5. The ultimate worth of meaningful work, interpersonal ties, and education. 6. The value of paying attention. 7. The challenge of responsibility. 8. The value of and need for suitable mentors. 9. The importance of using resources wisely, including emotional resources. 10. The necessity of building a reputation for honor and integrity.

Bestsong
Author: Scott Perry
Publisher: Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
ISBN: 1098011929
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 115
Book Description
It was around 1980 or 1982 that I had a dream or night vision of my standing in the pulpit of the Primitive Baptist Church of Gifford, Florida. In this dream or night vision, I was holding a book in my right hand. The title on the cover page of this book was "Bestsong." The next day, I shared this dream with my wife Helen and said to her, "I got to write a book." A few years later, my wife and I were walking through a parking lot in Fort Pierce, Florida, around two o'clock in the afternoon. A doctor friend of mine and a prophet I had never met was introduced to my wife and me. In shaking my hand, he said to me, "I am a prophet of God, and God said or says to you write that book." My wife Helen laughed and said, "I think you better start writing that book, bud." About two or three weeks later, I had another dream or night vision. In this one, I was standing and looking in front of a jukebox, looking down at a turning or spinning black record. It had the face of a hideous, giggling man in it. As this record played, rays were shooting out from this record. These rays would strike the young listeners in the head. I noticed that as these rays struck the heads of these young people, they would stiffen like they had become zombies. They would walk away from the jukebox and straightaway, go out and perform those evils they had heard coming from these records and the jukebox. A "Bestsong" can be God-inspired or Demon-inspired. A "Bestsong" can be the Almighty God from Heaven, or it can be to the god of this world, Satan. This book is a revelation from God our Father and the Lord, Jesus Christ, our soon-coming King. The ultimate goal of this book is to glorify God and to make one wise unto salvation. Read and be blessed.
