The street is empty as the lone homeless Vietnam Vet walks slowly towards the highway over pass. He watches in horror as a car speeds past him and then skids to a halt and a huge man jumps out and slams the young woman against the overpass wall. He escapes by climbing over the retaining fence blocking his way down to the highway and runs across the interstate. He is stopped by the scene of the young woman smashed by the grill of the semi-truck. He thinks of her as the girl on the grill. When an innocent man is accused of the murder, Johnnie decides he must step forward. Her attackers make the mistake of underestimating her willingness to take immediate and lethal action. Action that remains within the law but results in many casualties. Votive Candles The silence, the long Nave and high pointed ceiling held up by two rows of white columns seem to echo the silence of the empty church. It spoke of the smallness of the person walking up the aisle. Alex walked slowly carefully looking left and right to ensure that the person she was seeking was not trying to exit, as she walked slowly toward the Alter. She resisted approaching the confession booth to her left. She looked to the devotional votive candles flickering in the dark of their alcove. She resisted her urge to light one of her own and ask for the help she felt she needed. She stopped at the steps leading up to the alter and slowly rotated to take in the whole. She took a deep breath trying to decide what her next move would be. Suddenly, and silently she sensed a presence and as she turned she instinctively took a dive to the floor. The swoosh of the decorative long handled ax buried its blade into the end of the pew. She shouted, "do not shoot, do not shoot" to her two backups as she sprang back up right, flipped over the seat and onto the platform and swiftly retaliated with the small knife to the leg and a sweeping kick to the attacker's left knee. The crack resounded throughout the Nave and seemed to echo repeatedly as she followed with a swift hand chop to the side of the neck. She looked down on Father Chris Jones. She took out her handcuffs and put them on his wrists Back at the compound the doctor set the broken leg bone and said that with a brace Father Jones would be able to walk. Word had leaked that Father Jones was a pedophile and had been working with the children of the town. A mob approached the villa and Alex and her captive had to exit on the secret trail that led from the villa into town. With the help of Adolfo and one of his helpers they made their way to the town and then drove to the nearest airport. Trey, Bill, and Trevor met Alex at the airport in El Paso. It was back to Cincinnati where yet another twist to the assignment awaited the two top Cincinnati detective teams.

Book Description
Moon Curser The Maite's Cleaning van slowly approached the US-Mexican border crossing. Six people were laying in a false bottom chamber below the cleaning van bed. They were scared, silent and praying. Maite's parents had both been working class people. They had legally emigrated to the United States when she was twelve and settled in Laredo, Texas. She was well versed in what her mother did because she had often accompanied her when she was younger. She decided that she would open up a cleaning service. Cleaning provided a legitimate reason for her trucks entering Mexico and returning to the US. Smuggling soon provided the main income for the business. Her fortune seemed to grow exponentially. She now had been in business for many years. She had accumulated a very large sum of money, and she was no longer doing any hands-on work. Then an angry mood was triggered by a call she received from her snitch informer, who called to let her know that the young woman who had been arrested and detained after she had been smuggled into the US had been sponsored and whisked away by a person named Brian O'Neill. She was personally worried that the person who had been whisked away might give away her smuggling operational secrets. She was not usually a violent person but now she was willing to eliminate both the person who could potentially expose her operation and the person whose sponsorship had rescued her. After two failed attempts and killing the person pursuing her, Maite hired an assassin to kill Brian. She was sure that she had found the solution to her problems. She was surprised to learn that her sniper had failed and had died in a hail of bullets. She was now desperate and decided to go to her new hideaway in the belief that she would be able to hideaway. Instead, she is whisked away from her hideaway and brought back to into the US. She is brought to court and is surprised to be charged for money laundering and not paying her taxes instead of the attempted murder that she had been expecting. Found guilty, she points to her orange suit and mouth the famous line, "orange is the new black," to Brian as she is led out of court on her way to prison. Brian and his partner Kekoa returned to Maui to celebrate the successful apprehension of a wayward Billionaire.

Book Description
Isaac organized Slate with his six buddies from college. The year after his best buddy graduated, he got them together and set up Slate in each of their hometowns. They all embraced the goal of having sex with women of their choosing whenever they chose. The common element that spanned all encounters was their motto of, that there would be no witnesses at the end. "No Witness, no body, no crime," was their motto. Alex, known as the "Black Cincinnati Annie Oakley" takes the lull in her assignments as an opportunity to go on vacation. Driving her beloved black twelve cylinder convertible Jaguar slowly along the private road from the highway through the dense forest leading to the "Northern Illinois Apple Haven" she almost hits a woman screaming for help as four men pursue her. Alex tells everyone to stop as she declares her status as an Illinois policewoman. The person in the lead of three that seemed to be chasing the woman and a man that was pursuing the woman, raises his gun and gets ready to fire when the gun in his hand seems to fly into the air and he falls screaming that he has lost a finger. The person immediately behind him raises his gun but seems to stop midway and drop it, as he kneels and puts his hand on his chest were a large red spot blossoms around a small hole. The third person raises his hands and obeys Alex's command to a lay down. The person closest to the woman stops and begins to speak when Alex tells him to lay face down. A 911 call and a call to her Lieutenant Governor boss puts things on the road onto a case that spans the country. Vacation transitions into one of the most challenging cases that Alex has ever undertaken. She would be a black detective interacting with an almost totally white police force across the Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Washington States. She asks Trey, her red headed, blue eyed, six foot two, work partner if he is willing to take the lead position when they interface with the local law enforcement personnel. The arrangement works well to break down the official barriers. It is not law enforcement but the Slate leaders and their membership that attack them with the intent to kill. The two of them leave a trail of dead and wounded as they roundup and charge the Slate leaders. The Federal government steps in to take charge and brings the entire group to face trial in Cincinnati Federal court. The Illinois Slate leader, who escaped capture, attacks makes a final attempt to eliminate the black detective that has decimated the organization that he helped to found. It is his last mistake.
