Book Description
As a single parent of three, I have had an extraordinary life. But even so I've had my share of heartbreaks. And I've come to know people who have experienced extreme highs and lows in their lives as well. With their blessings, I have told their stories so as to give them comfort and help them to heal and move on. I personally have always believed that no matter how tough things get, to succeed, it's important to find the positive among the negative in life. It may not always be easy . . . but it is possible. These poems are my positives. Some relate overwhelming pain and sadness . . . while others express the most joyous moments in my life. I relate how anger can cripple as well as empower. It's all in the way you perceive it. Writing has served as an outlet for my deepest felt emotions . . . some good, some bad . . . and at times the best therapy. But I also know that without Jehovah God in my life to strengthen and guide my very steps, I may have remained lost. I am forever grateful for his unending love and direction.

A Life in Rhyme - My Family
Author: Jean Shaw
Publisher: CreateSpace
ISBN: 9781495492730
Category : Poetry
Languages : en
Pages : 60
Book Description
A Life In Rhyme - My Family is the second book in a collection of rhyming story poems I've written over a period of years. None of them were initially written for book publication, but I have received such encouragement from friends and family about them, I've decided to compile the verses into four different titles. Book 2 introduces you to my family and the story poems I've written for them on their special birthdays and anniversaries. Discover the link between the village where I live and the famous Harley Davidson motorbike. Let me introduce you to my immediate family as well as my Grandma who's amazingly just celebrated her 100th birthday, and to my mother-in-law who has Alzheimers! Each one is like a This Is Your Life set in rhyme. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 326
Book Description
Three weeks before he turns 18, Pat Harold Carter meets a Southern belle named Evelyn at Louisiana College, and he's immediately smitten. Under normal circumstances, he'd proceed with a typical courtship, but it is 1944, and so he signs up to join the Navy. It's better than being drafted as an infantryman, he thinks. But two years later and in ill health, Pat is still in the Navy. Evelyn, now a junior, is impressed with the cool, young veterans who are enrolling in college. Against all odds, however, Pat and Evelyn put faith first and decide to adventure with God. They marry, and their life becomes a poem full of truth, passion and goodness. Whether they are in New Orleans, San Francisco, Texas or in the northern desert of Mexico, the couple never fails to learn the lessons of prayer and faith as they confront the evils of the world. Take a journey with Pat and Evelyn and interpret their life as a poem of God, written in rhyme with the life of Caleb, the Old Testament warrior. They never stop believing in God Gave Me a Rhyme.

Honesty. Loves. Cruelty.
Author: M.O.C
Publisher: Lulu.com
ISBN: 138739021X
Category : Poetry
Languages : en
Pages : 162
Book Description
These poems represent a part of our lives where pain and suffering occurred. I hope many understand that these words were not permanent and emotions changed with time. The beauty of pain is that it heals with time. The beauty with time is it makes these moments seem smaller in the grand scheme of life. Poetry can be love and beauty but it can tell us just how much a person can hurt. Our blood and tears are put into these words and we hope you enjoy them. This book at times could seem powerful and feel negative but as many of you know, we cannot know love if we do not know pain. We cannot feel joy unless we know sadness. Life is sometimes dark, but the light will always shine through. We hope you can connect with these words and help you move forward or open up about yourself to the people around you. Sometimes it's okay to be honest about love and pain, without one we cannot have the other, for honesty truly loves Cruelty. They are two sides of the same coin and the value is worth the same where ever you go.
