La crise financière a souligné le rôle essentiel des normes comptables internationales dans l'information des investisseurs. Cette crise a également remis sur le devant de la scène les débats autour de la juste valeur (fair value en anglais). Une polarisation excessive des normes comptables autour des prix de marché pourrait accroître la volatilité des résultats et des capitaux propres des entreprises.
