By the early 1980s, this pop. had dwindled to about 30. In 1983, the SSM pop. of WC was granted emergency protection under the Endangered Species Act. Fed. and state agencies in the U.S. and in BC have participated in a coop. program to recover the WC. This report provides info. on: the amount and source of funds expended on the WC recovery program (RP); the results of the RP, incl. the outcome of efforts to augment the pop.; and the impact of the RP efforts on land use.
