Book Description
We determine rapidity asymmetry in the production of charged pions, protons and anti-protons for large transverse momentum (p{sub T}) for d+Au collisions at √s{sub NN} = 200 GeV. The rapidity asymmetry is defined as the ratio of particle yields at backward rapidity (Au beam direction or -ve rapidity) to those at forward rapidity (d beam direction or +ve rapidity). The identified hadrons are measured in the rapidity regions.

Book Description
We have carried out a wide study of Cold Nuclear Matter (CNM) effects on J/[Psi] = production in dAu, CuCu and AuAu collisions at √s{sub NN} = 200 GeV. We have studied the effects of three different gluon-shadowing parameterizations, using the usual simplified kinematics for which the momentum of the gluon recoiling against the J/[Psi] is neglected as well as an exact kinematics for a 2 → 2 process, namely g + g → J/[psi] + g as expected from LO pQCD. We have shown that the rapidity distribution of the nuclear modification factor R{sub dAu}, and particularly its anti-shadowing peak, is systematically shifted toward larger rapidities in the 2 → 2 kinematics, irrespective of which shadowing parameterization is used. In turn, we have noted differences in the effective final-state nuclear absorption needed to fit the PHENIX dAu data. Taking advantage of our implementation of a 2 → 2 kinematics, we have also computed the transverse momentum dependence of the nuclear modification factor, which cannot be predicted with the usual simplified kinematics. All the corresponding observables have been computed for CuCu and AuAu collisions and compared to the PHENIX and STAR data. Finally, we have extracted the effective nuclear absorption from the recent measurements of RCP in dAu collisions by the PHENIX collaboration.

Book Description
Transverse momentum (PT) distributions for pions, kaons, protons and antiprotons have been measured near mid-rapidity for Au+Au collisions at sNN = 62.4 GeV using the PHOBOS detector at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) in Brookhaven National Laboratory. Particle identification is performed using the PHOBOS Time-of-Flight plastic scintillator walls and specific energy loss in the multi-layer silicon Spectrometer, which is also used for track reconstruction and momentum-determination. The spectra are corrected for all detector-dependent effects, including feed-down from weak decays. At PT 3 GeV/c, protons are measured to be the dominant species of charged hadrons and scale much faster with respect to collision centrality than mesons. This behaviour at 62.4 GeV is found to be remarkably similar to that observed in Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV, an interesting observation which should serve as an important constraint on the various mechanisms which have been proposed to describe particle production over this PT range. Baryon stopping, the transport of baryon number from intial beam rapidity, is explored through the net proton (p - p) yields at mid-rapidity. These results fill a large gap between the SPS and higher RHIC energies and as such form an important set of data for comparing to models of baryon transport mechanisms.

Book Description
PHENIX has measured the transverse momentum (pT) spectra and two particle angular correlations for high pT particles in d+Au collisions at psNN=200 GeV using the RHIC Year-2008 run data. The azimuthal angle correlations for two particles with a large rapidity gap exhibit a ridge-like structure. Using the pi-0s reconstructed in the EMCal, we have successfully extended the pT reach of the correlation up to 8 GeV/c. We find that the azimuthal anisotropy of hadrons found at low pT persists up to 6 GeV/c with a significant centrality and pT dependence, similar to what was observed in A+A collisions.

Book Description
Identified mid-rapidity particle spectra of [pi]{sup ±}, K{sup ±}, and p({bar p}) from 200 GeV p+p and d+Au collisions are reported. A time-of-flight detector based on multi-gap resistive plate chamber technology is used for particle identification. The particle-species dependence of the Cronin effect is observed to be significantly smaller than that at lower energies. The ratio of the nuclear modification factor (R{sub dAu}) between (p+ {bar p}) and charged hadrons (h) in the transverse momentum range 1.2

Book Description
We present the first measurements of identified hadron production, azimuthal anisotropy, and pion interferometry from Au+Au collisions below the nominal injection energy at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) facility. The data were collected using the large acceptance STAR detector at (square root)s{sub NN} = 9.2 GeV from a test run of the collider in the year 2008. Midrapidity results on multiplicity density (dN/dy) in rapidity (y), average transverse momentum (p{sub T}), particle ratios, elliptic flow, and HBT radii are consistent with the corresponding results at similar (square root)s{sub NN} from fixed target experiments. Directed flow measurements are presented for both midrapidity and forward rapidity regions. Furthermore the collision centrality dependence of identified particle dN/dy, p{sub T}, and particle ratios are discussed. These results also demonstrate that the capabilities of the STAR detector, although optimized for (square root)s{sub NN} = 200 GeV, are suitable for the proposed QCD critical point search and exploration of the QCD phase diagram at RHIC.

Book Description
The pseudorapidity asymmetry and centrality dependence of charged hadron spectra in d+Au collisions at (square root)s{sub NN} = 200 GeV are presented. The charged particle density at mid-rapidity, its pseudorapidity asymmetry and centrality dependence are reasonably reproduced by a Multi-Phase Transport model, by HIJING, and by the latest calculations in a saturation model. Ratios of transverse momentum spectra between backward and forward pseudorapidity are above unity for p{sub T} below 5 GeV/c. The ratio of central to peripheral spectra in d+Au collisions shows enhancement at 2
