Contexte : dans une conjoncture où l'offre de remplacement augmente, les médecins généralistes sont en difficulté pour trouver des médecins remplaçants (MR).L'objectif de cette étude était d'évaluer les préférences selon les MR des propositions faites par les médecins installés (MI) pour pallier les difficultés de remplacement. Méthode : il s'agissait d'une étude quantitative réalisée grâce à un questionnaire basé sur des propositions faites par les MI retrouvées dans une précédente étude qualitative. Ce questionnaire a été diffusé en ligne durant 4 semaines et destiné aux MR exerçant dans toute la France. Résultats : 345 questionnaires ont été recueillis, dont 224 exploitables. Les MR appréciaient particulièrement la flexibilité concernant leur planning de travail, la possibilité de remplacer en dehors des vacances scolaires, l'exercice au sein d'un cabinet de groupe, la présence d'un secrétariat et l'augmentation de la rétrocession. Le logiciel, la relation avec le médecin remplacé, l'équipement du cabinet et la recherche de remplacements semblaient moins importants. Les MR privilégiaient les recherches en ligne notamment par le biais des réseaux sociaux. La coercition était largement contestée par les MR. Discussion : pour pallier les difficultés de remplacement, il faudrait que les MI envisagent de s'adapter aux attentes des MR concernant le rythme, le planning, le fonctionnement du cabinet et les avantages financiers. Il serait intéressant que les MI et les MR trouvent ensemble des solutions pérennes. Le gouvernement pourrait proposer des solutions destinées aux MR en étant à leur écoute et non pas en les contraignant.
