Book Description
Beat the market by using Psychological Analysis for investing and trading under any conditions Conventional wisdom tells us that people are rational and make rational decisions with their money. But that’s simply not true considering most people fail to beat the market. Conventional wisdom also tells us that there are two primary ways to approach the market: technical and fundamental analysis. Again, that is not true because if it were—everyone would be rich. Think about it, how many times have you seen stocks with poor fundamentals go up, or stocks with great technicals go down? It’s obvious that something is missing. Author Adam Sarhan, Founder and CEO of 50 Park Investments, developed a new approach, titled, Psychological Analysis (PA). Coined by the author, the term teaches you how to make rational, not emotional, decisions with your money and shows you how to analyze both the individual and collective market mindset at a particular time based on the behavior and decision-making of people in the real-world. Psychological Analysis is designed to tip the odds of success in your favor. After studying every major economic and market cycle going back to the 3rd century, the author explains that human nature is the one constant and tells you what actually drives markets. Psychological Analysis is responsible for major and minor market moves today, tomorrow, and all throughout history. Adam shows you that there are more factors that influence price than just fundamental or technical analysis and how to bring out the smart money superhero inside you. This invaluable guide helps you: Make rational, not emotional, decisions with your money—especially when you are under pressure Understand the psyche of the market so you can learn how to join the Smart Money Circle and consistently take money out Generate above average returns in all market environments Incorporate Psychological Analysis into your overall trading and investing strategy so you can make smarter decisions on and off Wall Street Psychological Analysis: How to Outsmart the Market One Trade at a Time is a must-have resource for traders, investors, finance professionals, and anyone who wants to profit regardless of market conditions.

Book Description
During the author's 25 years as a police officer and FBI special agent, he witnessed countless lies told for a variety of reasons in every imaginable circumstance from petty criminals to sophisticated international spies, each with differing levels of ability to lie convincingly. This led to groundbreaking research examining the grammatical differences between truthful and deceptive narratives and the development of organized word and grammar patterns. This robust Psychological Narrative Analysis (PNA) system tests truthfulness in both written and oral communications and provides clues to the communication styles and behavioral characteristics of others. PNA techniques identify specific words, speech patterns, and grammar structures that reveal clues to a person's personality, which helps evaluate the veracity of what they say. The first part of the book presents a full range of PNA techniques in concise, everyday language, including word clues, human communication and deception, lying by obfuscation, lying by omission, the micro-action interview, and testing for deception. Examples accompany each technique where applicable. The second part offers examples of PNA using oral and written communications taken from actual cases or real-life situations. Substantial appendices review the PNA of written and oral communications, along with practice statements for the reader, followed by a PNA of those exercises.

Book Description
Lawyer, Know Thyself explores what some consider to be a three-part crisis in the legal profession. Despite the many perks of being a lawyer - among them intellectual challenge, social status, and high salaries - job dissatisfaction, poor mental health, and substance abuse are surprisingly common among lawyers. In addition, the public arguably has less respect for attorneys than for any other professional group. Finally, there seems to be a crisis of professionalism among lawyers, as borne out by frequent complaints of incivility, combative litigation, and ethically questionable conduct.

Book Description
This authoritative collection goes beyond economic statistics and probability data to offer a robust psychological understanding of risk perception and risk taking behavior. Expert contributors examine various risk domains in life, and pinpoint cognitive, emotional, and personality factors contributing to individual differences in risk taking as well as the many nuances social demographics (e.g., culture, gender) bring to risk decisions. Coverage takes competing theories and studies into account to identify mechanisms involved in processing and acting on uncertainty. And implications and applications are demonstrated in varied fields, from updated risk models for the insurance sector to improved risk communication in health services to considering risk perception in policy decisions. A sampling of the topics: Personality and risk: beyond daredevils—risk taking from a temperament perspective. Cognitive, developmental, and neurobiological aspects of risk judgments. The group effect: social influences on risk identification, analysis, and decision-making. Cognitive architectures as a scaffolding for risky choice models. Improving understanding of health-relevant numerical information. Risk culture as a framework for improving competence in risk management. Psychological Perspectives on Risk and Risk Analysis will be of great interest to researchers in and outside of psychology, including decision-making experts and behavioral economists. Additionally, this volume will appeal to practitioners who often have to make risky decisions, such as managers and physicians.

Book Description
The United States Social Security Administration (SSA) administers two disability programs: Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), for disabled individuals, and their dependent family members, who have worked and contributed to the Social Security trust funds, and Supplemental Security Income (SSSI), which is a means-tested program based on income and financial assets for adults aged 65 years or older and disabled adults and children. Both programs require that claimants have a disability and meet specific medical criteria in order to qualify for benefits. SSA establishes the presence of a medically-determined impairment in individuals with mental disorders other than intellectual disability through the use of standard diagnostic criteria, which include symptoms and signs. These impairments are established largely on reports of signs and symptoms of impairment and functional limitation. Psychological Testing in the Service of Disability Determination considers the use of psychological tests in evaluating disability claims submitted to the SSA. This report critically reviews selected psychological tests, including symptom validity tests, that could contribute to SSA disability determinations. The report discusses the possible uses of such tests and their contribution to disability determinations. Psychological Testing in the Service of Disability Determination discusses testing norms, qualifications for administration of tests, administration of tests, and reporting results. The recommendations of this report will help SSA improve the consistency and accuracy of disability determination in certain cases.
