Face à des sujets traumatisés crâniens anciens, la pratique révèle fréquemment des difficultés de compréhension orale qui perturbent la communication quotidienne. Pourtant, les outils d'évaluation disponibles n'objectivent généralement que peu ou pas de troubles de la compréhension orale chez ces patients. Forts de ce constat, et de nos échanges avec les différents thérapeutes du Foyer Fond-Peyré, s'est imposée la nécessité d'élaborer un outil d'évaluation écologique, adapté à cette population, permettant de décrire le niveau et les compétences de compréhension d'un patient. Il aurait pour objet d'orienter la prise en charge, et de guider l'entourage, professionnel ou non, dans ses échanges avec ces patients. Notre travail constitue un point d'étape dans la création d'un tel outil ne se limite à une étude de faisabilité, visant à vérifier la pertinence du pré-test que nous avons élaboré. Nous avons pris le parti d'évaluer la compréhension de façon bimodale à travers deux épreuves. La première, la plus écologique, vise à évaluer la compréhension globale d'un énoncé long. La deuxième, plus descriptive, évalue la compréhension d'éléments précis constitutifs du discours. Par ailleurs, nous avons souhaité nous intéresser à la compréhension des traumatisés crâniens anciens dans leur quotidien, et indépendamment des troubles cognitifs qui les caractérisent. Les résultats de notre étude ont fait émerger des difficultés de compréhension orale chez les traumatisés crâniens évalués. Par ailleurs, notre pré-test semble constituer un support permettant de décrire les difficultés de compréhension orale d'un patient. Cependant, l'adaptation des épreuves à notre population pourrait être améliorée, et son champ élargi.

Thickening Fat: Fat Bodies, Intersectionality, and Social Justice seeks to explore the multiple, variable, and embodied experiences of fat oppression and fat activisms. Moving beyond an analysis of fat oppression as singular, this book will aim to unpack the volatility of fat—the mutability of fat embodiments as they correlate with other embodied subjectivities, and the threshold where fat begins to be reviled, celebrated, or amended. In addition, Thickening Fat explores the full range of intersectional and liminal analyses that push beyond the simple addition of two or more subjectivities, looking instead at the complex alchemy of layered and unstable markers of difference and privilege.
