Dans le cadre de mon projet d'intervention, j'ai fait l'expérimentation d'une intervention de groupe auprès de jeunes hébergés dans les foyers de groupe-petits au Centre jeunesse de Québec-Institut universitaire (CJQ-IU). Cette intervention découle de l'adaptation française du programme Making choices et dont le titre a été traduit par Je fais mes choix. L'objectif général du programme est d'enseigner les habiletés de résolution de problèmes, particulièrement auprès de jeunes présentant des difficultés d'ajustement social, dont des problèmes de comportements extériorisés. Les trois volets du programme ciblent respectivement 1) l'apprentissage des émotions et de stratégies pour gérer ses sentiments, 2) la reconnaissance des indices rencontrés dans différentes situations sociales et 3) l'interprétation des indices sociaux et des situations sociales. Cinq jeunes ont participé à l'expérimentation du groupe. Le devis d'évaluation de l'intervention est mixte puisqu'il inclut des outils quantitatifs et qualitatifs. Les résultats indiquent une certaine amélioration des participants sur le plan des habiletés sociales et des problèmes d'intériorisation et d'extériorisation, bien que la majorité des participants continuent de présenter des difficultés majeures sur ces dimensions. De plus, les jeunes rapportent avoir réalisé des apprentissages à la suite de l'intervention, notamment sur le plan de la connaissance des émotions, de la résolution de conflits, des techniques de relaxation et de l'interprétation des intentions. La discussion fournit une interprétation détaillée des résultats obtenus.

This book examines diverse encounters between the British community and the thousands of French individuals who sought haven in the British Isles as they left revolutionary and Imperial France. This painstaking research into the emigrant archival and memorial presence in Britain uncovers a wealth of underused and alternative sources on this controversial population displacement. These include open letters and classified advertisements published in British newspapers, insurance contracts, as well as lists of addresses and passports drawn up by local authorities. These sources question the construction by British loyalists and French émigré elites of a stereotyped emigrant figure and their use of the trauma of forced displacement to advance ideological agendas. In fact, public and private discourses on governmental systems, foreigners, political and religious dissent, and the economic survival of French emigrants, demonstrate the heterogeneity of the responses to emigration in Britain.
