Eine der zentralen Herausforderungen für Lehrerinnen und Lehrer aller Fächer ist es, Fachunterricht so zu gestalten, dass er der Mehrsprachigkeit an den Bildungseinrichtungen gerecht wird. Eine der zentralen Herausforderungen für die Lehrerbildung ist es dementsprechend, zukünftigen Lehrkräften Lerngelegenheiten für diesen Kompetenzerwerb zu bieten. Das BMBF-Projekt 'Professionelle Kompetenzen angehender Lehrkräfte (Sek I) im Bereich Deutsch als Zweitsprache (DaZKom)' verfolgt seit 2012 das Ziel, diese Kompetenzen theoretisch zu modellieren und empirisch messbar zu machen. Dieser Band gibt einen vertieften Einblick über die Zielsetzung, den theoretischen Hintergrund, das methodische Vorgehen und die Ergebnisse des DaZKom-Projekts. Die Relevanz von Kompetenzen von Lehrkräften im Bereich DaZ in Schule und Fachunterricht wird thematisiert und das theoretische Modell von DaZ-Kompetenz detailliert dargestellt. Die Ansätze, Methoden und Ergebnisse des DaZKom-Projekts können Akteurinnen und Akteuren in Schule und Universität Impulse für die Weiterentwicklung der Lehrerbildung und Anknüpfungspunkte für vertiefende Forschungen in diesem Bereich geben.
