These proceedings summarize the discussions that took place during a Regional Advisory Process meeting to review the status of 2 herring populations in the Maritimes and Gulf regions. In addition to the population assessments a number of supporting documents that presented fishery information collected and analysed by industry-funded participants were reviewed, as well as a proposal for a new approach to managing the fisheries using decision rules based on acoustic estimates of local proven stocks.
