P., Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of A. F. & A. M. of Canada, assisted by the Grand Officers and in presence of a large concourse of brethren and citizens, with the usual ceremonies of the Order. The acting Grand Treasurer then deposited the scroll in the cavity in the stone, together with a box containing the scroll and certain newspapers and records. A beautiful silver trowel, suitably inscribed, was presented to the M. W. the Grand Master, by the Rev. J. Carlton McCracken, Incumbent of the Church. The Grand Wardens and the Deputy Grand Master applied the implements of their offices to the stone, after it had been placed in position, and announced that the craftsmen had done their duty.
