Book Description
Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Book Description
Excerpt from Popular Christianity: Its Transition State and Probable Development I have strongly protested against the finality so generally conceded to the Reformation of the six teenth century, and the shallow (so called) evan gelical Christianity that has been founded upon it. It seems 'to be supposed that to protest against Popery was to establish God's truth in the world. The awakened intelligence of the age, however, now expects something more from that great his torical event than the barren triumph of one sect over another, and. Regards the Protestantism of the Reformation as no more final than the rival decrees of the Council of Trent. A religion founded on protests is, at best, but'a negative one; and, if the attempt be continued to establish the finality of the Reformed religion, the world will soon be in protest against Protestantism itself.
