Also considered were the allied problems of Reserve Component officers in key positions lacking relevant active duty experience together with the problem of Reserve Component officers being significantly older than their Active Army counterparts. Of special value to this research effort were the studies of the Reserve Components conducted since World War 2, the latest of which was completed in 1972. Interviews were conducted with selected members of the Department of Army Staff and certain statistical information was obtained from that source. (Modified author abstract).
