Contexte : l'éducation thérapeutique est un pilier de la prise en charge du diabète mais n'est pas toujours aisée à mettre en place. Les applications mobiles améliorent l'autogestion du diabète et offrent de nouvelles perspectives pour la prise en charge des patients, en particulier leur éducation, notamment en soins premiers. Cependant, il n'existe pas de réglementation particulière quant à leur contenu. Objectif : l'objectif de notre travail était de relever quels étaient les éléments à inclure dans ces applications pour en faire des outils d'accompagnement du patient diabétique en soins premiers, selon les principes de l'ETP. Matériel et méthodes : nous avons réalisé une revue systématique de la littérature selon les recommandations PRISMA, en incluant des articles publiés entre Janvier 2010 et Mars 2020 et extraits des banques de données PubMed, EM Premium, Google Scholar, Cochrane et SUDOC. La qualité de la méthode et du rapport a été évaluée par des grilles d'évaluation. Chaque étape de la sélection des articles et leur évaluation a été faite par deux chercheurs de façon indépendante. Résultats : 9 articles ont été inclus et analysés. Quatre grandes composantes des applications ont été identifiées. Elles comprennent les grands principes de l'ETP, la sécurité/réglementation, le contenu de soin et les fonctionnalités de l'application. Ces deux dernières composantes ciblent essentiellement le suivi glycémique, la modification du mode de vie et la gestion du traitement. Conclusion : les applications mobiles dédiées à la gestion du diabète doivent être centrées sur le patient, proposer un contenu scientifique fiable et personnalisé mais aussi faciliter les échanges avec les professionnels de santé. L'établissement d'un consensus relatif à leur contenu voire d'une labellisation de ces outils permettrait une utilisation plus sécurisée et participerait à leur intégration à la pratique des acteurs de soins primaires.
