Book Description
No college football program has ever had to deal with the obstacles, hostility, and challenges encountered by the players and coaches of the 2012 Penn State Nittany Lions, and this book is an account of that unforgettable season in which the team rebounded from a disillusioning 0-2 start to surprise everyone and finish with an 8-4 record, third best in the Big Ten Conference. The turmoil at Penn State began in early November 2011 with the shocking arrest of retired assistant coach Jerry Sandusky for multiple charges of sexual child abuse, and within days legendary head coach Joe Paterno was fired in what would be termed the biggest scandal in college football history. By the end of January, Paterno was dead from lung cancer and a new head coach without any Penn State connections, Bill O’Brien, began putting together his staff while finishing up his job as offensive coordinator of the Super Bowl bound New England Patriots. We Are Penn State tells the story of how this team overcame unprecedented NCAA sanctions, including a four-year bowl ban and the loss of 45 scholarships over the same period, the transfer of several of its star players, and overwhelming predictions that the 2012 season would be a disaster to put together a successful season and restore some dignity to what was once considered one of the elite programs in college football.

Book Description
Tapestry: A Student-Led Chamber Music Series was a set of two concerts that I designed to feature diverse chamber music performed by students of the Penn State School of Music. I was responsible for the ensemble programming, the provision of venues, the advertising, and the printed program information. Performers programmed their own sets of music with my approval and provided their own program notes or group bio information. The performances took place on Sunday, January 31st and Sunday February, 7th 2016 in St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the University Baptist and Brethren Church respectively. Each event included a talk back session with all of the performers after the recital was finished. This aspect of Tapestry was designed to strengthen the appreciation of different forms of art music made by members of the Penn State School of Music. In this paper I will review the reasons behind my planning of this project and the way in which my plan was carried out. Then I will evaluate to what degree I met my goals and and suggest ways that I think Tapestry could be improved or modified to be more successful in the future.

Book Description
Since its founding in 1899, the Blue Band has become a beloved part of the history and tradition of Pennsylvania State University. Respected by students and alumni, faculty and administrators, the Blue Band is one of the most visible representations of the dedication, pride, and honor in the hearts of all who are associated with "Dear Old State." From its humble beginnings as a six-member all-male drum and bugle corps to its current membership of over 300 instrumentalists, silks, and majorettes, the Blue Band has provided the soundtrack to the Penn State experience. From marching its trademark "Floating Lions" drill at football games in Beaver Stadium, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia to performing in concerts, field shows, and parades everywhere from the Pinstripe Bowl in Yankee Stadium to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, the Blue Band has proudly served as Penn State's musical ambassador throughout Pennsylvania and across the United States. And since joining the Big Ten Conference in 1993, the Blue Band has embraced opportunities to perform alongside many of the other premier collegiate band programs in the nation.
