One of the victims, Charlie Howard, trying to flee, trips on a curb & falls. The trio is upon him & begins to kick & punch him. They throw him over the railing into the stream as a prank. The young man dies. The State Coroner testifies that Howard succumbed to a severe attack of asthma & water ingestion. The three teenagers are sent to the Maine Youth Center in South Portland, Maine for indeterminate sentences.
