Book Description
From the Preface: The abstracts in this compilation were made from microfilmed copies of the original records of Grant, Harrison, and Pendleton Counties, Kentucky, by Janet K. Pease of Arvada, Colorado. The Grant County, Kentucky abstracts include Order Books C and H. It is not clear why these two order books are not lettered consecutively. It appears that Order Book H picked up exactly where Order Book C left off. The Harrison County Record Book abstracts in this volume begin with Record Book E. The Pendleton County will abstracts include all known recorded wills in the county from 1799 through November 1871. before 1841, Pendleton County wills were recorded randomly in the Pendleton County Deed Books A through G. Although there is an index to these wills, the compiler fouand at least one will recorded in Deed Book B which was not included in the Index of Wills in the Pendleton County Courthouse. This will is included in this abstraction. The index for this volume appears at the end of each group of county records.

Book Description
From the Preface The abstracts in this compilation were made from microfilmed copies of the original records of Grant Harrison, and Pendleton Counties, Kentucky by the compiler, Janet K. Pease of Arvada, Colorado. Included in the probate abstracts for Grant County are wills, sale bills, dower andestate divisions, and estate settlements. Omitted were inventories of estate property, unless large numbers of accounts/notes were involved in which people's names were mentioned. The two probate books abstracted for Grant County cover the years 1820-1845. All the wills in Harrison County Will Books A through F, 1795-1853 were abstracted. In addition, all sale bills through 1815 plus names of all purchasers were included. A few sale bills after 1815 for those families from this county in whom the compiler was particularly interested were included. Names copied as found; the county clerk/recorder occasionally had poor handwriting and spelled the same name in diffreent ways in the same document, for example, Conrad/Coonrod. Six will books were abstracted and cover the period 1795-1853. The abstracts for Pendleton County were taken from two order books. From Order Book A, the compiler abstracted every name found although not every word in the order it was copied. From Order Book B, the compiler abstracted only items of genealogical interest such as estate proceedings, sale bills, guardianships, and delinquent tax lists. Items not abstracted were those regarding road work, road surveying crews, and night patrollers. Name indexes were prepared by the compiler for the three groups of county records abstracted. These indexes have been edited and merged into a master index to cover Kentucky County Court Records -- Grant, Harrison, Pendleton -- Volume I by John B. Conrad and Helen Steinmetz.
