Ozonesonde Observations Over North America. Volume 4
Author:
Publisher:
ISBN:

Languages : en
Pages : 370
Book Description
An experimental program for the measurement of the vertical ozone distribution was established by the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories in January 1963. Observations from eleven network stations spread throughout North America are being published in a series of reports. This fourth volume contains ozonagrams for individual ozonesonde ascents made during the period September 1964 to January 1966. The report also presents a statistical summary of the ozonesonde data for the three-year period ending December 1965. Seasonal mean ozone profiles and the standard deviations from the average distributions are given for each station. Correlations of the ozone concentration at specific levels with temperature, pressure, and total ozone are also summarized. (Author).

Extreme Values of Ozone Observed in the AFCRL Ozonesonde Network
Author: Thomas R. Borden (Jr.)
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Atmosphere, Upper
Languages : en
Pages : 20
Book Description
Values of maximum and 90 percentile ozone amounts observed during operation of the AFCRL ozonesonde network in North America are presented. The 90 percentile values are shown in cross section as a function of season, latitude, and altitude. The maximum values are represented by profiles of ozone versus altitude without regard to season or latitude. These results have application to the problems of ozone toxicity, harmful effects of ozone on vehicle components, and target detection by ultraviolet optical techniques. (Author).
