L'étude prospective réalisée au CHU de Rouen, pendant douze mois en 2000-2001, avait pour but d'évaluer la prise en charge préhospitalière par le SAMU-SMUR et l'accueil au POSU pédiatriques des convulsions de l'enfant. L'attitude clinique et thérapeutique des équipes médicales est en générale satisfaisante mais l'analyse effectuée a retrouvé des examens cliniques souvent incomplets, des hospitalisations trop systématiques et un manque d'informations données aux parents. L'utilisation d'un protocole en régulation et de fiches spécialisées par le SMUR et les urgences pédiatriques pourraient permettre une attitude plus systématisée et une meilleure transmission des données.
