Modelling, Simulation and Optimization of Industrial Fixed Bed Catalytic Reactors
Author: S.S.E.H. Elnashaie
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 135143067X
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 510
Book Description
In the last two decades impressive advances have been made toward the understanding and quantitative description of the kinetics. Despite these advances, however, the use of mathematical modelling of gas-solid catalytic reactors in industry is still limited. By consolidating progress in the understanding of catalytic processes, this book applies these fundamental advances to the development of models for design, simulation and optimization of industrial reactors. Paying particular attention to the verification of the developed models against industrial data, these models are used to optimize the performance of many practical reactor cases. Using a systems approach for the development of the different components and the resulting overall models, the book is easy to read and gives an insight into the behaviour of these complex industrial systems. In addition, the practical relevance of bifurcation, instability and chaos to industrial reactors is briefly discussed.

Modelling of Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide Methanation Under Industrial Condition
Author: Artur Wodo≈Ça≈oski
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Electronic books
Languages : en
Pages : 0
Book Description
The development of methanation technology is supported by detailed modeling and process simulation to optimize the design and study of its reaction dynamic properties. The chapter presents a discussion of selected catalysts and its kinetic models in the methanation reaction. The development models of fixed-bed reactors in the methane synthesis were also presented. Chemical and physical modeling of methanation reactions with optimization, exploitation, and the analysis of critical processes in time is an important contribution to the technology modernization.

Chemical Process Design, Simulation and Optimization
Author: Jean-Pierre Corriou
Publisher: MDPI
ISBN: 3036500960
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 352
Book Description
The book presents a series of articles devoted to modeling, simulation, and optimization of processes, mainly chemical. General methods for process modeling and numerical simulation are described with flowsheeting. Population balances are addressed in detail with application to crystal production; energy saving is frequently optimized, including exergy analysis. The coupling between process simulation and computational fluid dynamics is studied for air classification and bubble columns. Pressure swing adsorption, reactive distillation, and nanofiltration are explained in general and applied to particular processes. The synthesis of carbon dots is solved by the design of experiments method. A safety study addresses the consequences of gas explosion.
