Book Description
The international phenomenon that has sold more than two million copies, If Cats Disappeared from the World--now a Japanese film--is a heartwarming, funny, and profound meditation on the meaning of life. This timeless tale from Genki Kawamura (producer of the Japanese blockbuster animated movie Your Name) is a moving story of loss and reconciliation, and of one man’s journey to discover what really matters most in life. The young postman’s days are numbered. Estranged from his family and living alone with only his cat, Cabbage, to keep him company, he was unprepared for the doctor’s diagnosis that he has only months to live. But before he can tackle his bucket list, the devil shows up to make him an offer: In exchange for making one thing in the world disappear, the postman will be granted one extra day of life. And so begins a very strange week that brings the young postman and his beloved cat to the brink of existence. With each object that disappears, the postman reflects on the life he’s lived, his joys and regrets, and the people he’s loved and lost.

Book Description
No More Vegetables by Debi Brown When the rolls with butter were left out of Dusty's breakfast; he vows that he will never eat vegetables again. His desire for the rolls takes over logic and he sets out on a quest to find them. He faces the dangers of the farm that includes a huge tractor that almost hits him, and a ferocious cat with deadly claws and a reputation to match them. Dusty considers the cat's multiple personalities because this rascal could rip out his heart or play dead cat on the porch. Could the cat be a mafia boss? Or maybe instead of mice on the porch could he leave dead politicians! Dusty wasn't sure. After learning all about the farm animals and what they ate, Dusty had to admit that he could not just eat rolls and be healthy, he needed vegetables too! While searching for the stash of rolls, he found the friendship of the farm animals and the love of his family. Grades 2-5 (depending on reading skills)

Book Description
This book is basically a collection of poems on various subjects. This is not classic poetry. I frankly started out one night to write something in basic essay/paragraph format and while I had a lot going through my mind, I ended up jotting down a few notes, then at some point, I found that I was stringing those notes together, putting them in basic rhyme and my first writing turned into what I suppose can be considered a poem "For the People." I found this an interesting and convenient way to express thoughts on a variety of issues and from there, many followed; mainly that year and some more the following years. I don't know whether anyone will find interest in what I have written here. And, if so, I don't really know who. There are no real secrets or wisdom in this book; but, hopefully, some will enjoy it. The great majority of this book was written in 1993. I had gotten out of the Navy where I had been enlisted from Oct 1977 - Oct 1992. For the year 1993, I was basically able to take a year off without working. This material was only recently copyrighted, and none of it has been made public before now.
