The Mosaic Anthologies celebrate the music of composers that have been historically excluded from the pedagogical repertoire. With these volumes we hope to expand the perspective of all classical music audiences, professional musicians, and students regarding who is included among the composers we listen to, study and play. The works included in these volumes propose empowering additions to any studio, classroom, and concert program.This first set of volumes and their companion recordings feature works by Black and Latino composers geared toward beginning through intermediate string students. The companion recordings feature world class performers who also identify as Black and/or Latino.In making this music readily available to those in their early classical music studies we hope to help make a more inclusive and inviting learning environment.Music, we believe, should include and belong to everyone.We invite you, the listener, teacher, or string player, to explore, grow, and enjoy your interaction with the inspiring pieces assembled for you in these volumes.This volume includes a full set of parts for string ensemble: Violin 1, Violin 2, Violin 3, Viola, Cello, and Bass.
