A GYPSY MAGIC SPELL. HOKKANI BASO LELLIN DUDIKABIN, OR THE GREAT SECRET CHILDREN'S RHYMES AND INCANTATIONS TEN LITTLE INDIAN BOYS AND TEN LITTLE ACORN GIRLS OF MARCELLUS BURDI- GALENSIS. HERE is a meaningless rhyme very common among children. It is repeated while "counting off" --or "out" --those who are taking part in a game, and allotting to each a place. There are many versions of it, but the following is exactly word for word what I learned when a boy in Philadelphia: -- Ekkeri (or ickery), akkery, u-kcry an, Fillisi', follasy, Nicholas John, Queebee - quabee -- Irishman (or, Irish Mary), Stingle 'em--stangle 'em--buck! With a very little alteration This chapter is reproduced, but with much addition, from one in my work entitled "The Gypsies," published in Boston, 1881, by Houghton and Mifflin. London: Trubner Sc Co. The addition will be the most interesting portion to the folk-lorist. in sounds, and not more than children make of these verses in different places, this may be read as follows: -- Ek-keri (yekori) akairi, you kair an, Fillissin, follasy, Nakelas jan Kivi, kavi--Irishman, Stini, stani--buck! This is, of course, nonsense, but it is Romany or gypsy nonsense, and it may be thus translated very accurately: -- First--here--you begin! Castle, gloves. You don't play! Go on! Kivi--a kettle. How are you? Stdni, buck. The common version of the rhyme begins with-- "One--ery--two--ery, ickery an." But one-ery is an exact translation of ek-keri; ek, or yek, meaning one in gypsy. (Ek-orus, or yek-korus, means once). And it is remarkable that in-- "Hickory dickory dock, The rat ran up the clock, The clock struck one, And down he run, Hickory dickory dock." We have hickory, or ek-keri, again followed by a significant one. It may be observed that while my firs...

Book Description
Lynn Capani-Czebiniak is passionate about bringing the living goddess into the lives of all who may know of her, but have not yet found a way to integrate her love and compassion into their lives. Within a semiautobiographical presentation, Lynn shares original goddess creations accompanied by explanations and details of her own intimate experiences with each goddess, including Abuk, Morpheus, Gaia, Kwan Yin, Mare-Mayde, and many more. While encouraging others to invite the Goddess presence into our beings to learn everything we can about her and the gentler way of life she exemplifies, Lynn also provides ways our studies of goddesses can guide us to implement positive changes through meditation, mindful purpose, and reverence—ultimately letting go of what no longer serves us and finding our way back to renewal. Moon’s Breath and Magick shares original illustrations and personal insights that celebrate the resurgence of the Goddess while exemplifying the Goddess in each of us.

Book Description
A GYPSY'S KISS is a SILVER MEDAL WINNER in the Readers' Favorite Awards - Supernatural Romance Category An entertaining story of first love that is filled with sufficient mystery and drama to keep you turning the pages. A Gypsy's Kiss is a paranormal story that has its own flavor and characters with great interaction. Breena Cassidy is cursed with what could be one of the worst supernatural abilities imaginable, she has never had the luxury of falling in love. Hell, she’s never even held a guy’s hand. At only twenty-two years old, she’s just about given up on the whole love thing. After all, when you can see twelve hours of someone’s future by a simple touch, and they, in turn, can see what you see, well… relationships are sort of out of the question. Her gigs performing psychic readings at parties, and the occasional one-on-one private appointment are just about Breena’s only connection with people. No matter how much she might wish otherwise. Hawk Covington's hard body and skill have earned him a starting position on the Pioneer’s college hockey team. But it’s not his talent with a hockey stick that’s the most remarkable. His gorgeous two-colored eyes not only draw the attention of every female on campus, they also allow him to track people and objects. But when he suddenly finds himself stalked by a stranger, he seeks out the help of the rumored, “campus gypsy” for help. Despite his vow to stay single and play as many college women as he can while the fun lasts, Hawk can’t ignore his attraction to the lovely and spirited Breena. And she can’t get the hunky star hockey player out of her mind once a single touch of his hand reveals something utterly strange. Surrounded by mystery, they realize that fate has brought them together for a reason, but can they stay alive long enough to recognize the depth of their feelings for one another? ☆☆☆☆☆ 5 Stars "Susan Griscom has created a great supernatural romance in A Gypsy's Kiss. The main characters are well developed, especially Breena as she struggles to cope with her 'gift.' She is resourceful, though, and knows how to handle herself. Hawk is a good match for her and the chemistry between them is great. The plot line for both of them is a novel way to keep the two of them apart and ramp up the tension. I think this book will do very well because it is easy to get into and the characters are relatable. A good start to the series, and I look forward to reading more from this author." Book Description
Federico Garcia Lorca wrote the Gypsy Ballads between 1924 and 1927. When the book was published it caused a sensation in the literary world. Drawing on the traditional Spanish ballad form, Lorca described his Romancero Gitano as 'the poem of Andalucia...A book that hardly expresses visible Andalusia at all, but where hidden Andalucia trembles'. Seeking to relate the nature of his proud and troubled region of Spain, he drew on a traditional gypsy form; yet the homely, unpretentious style of these poems barely disguises the undercurrents of conflicted identity never far from Lorca's work. This bilingual edition, translated by Jane Duran and Glora Garcia Lorca, is illuminated by photos and illustrations of and by Lorca, his own reflections on the poems and introductory notes by leading Lorca scholars: insights into the Romancero and the history of the Spanish ballad form by Andres Soria Olmedo; notes on the dedications by Manuel Fernandez-Montesinos; Lorca's 1935 lecture; and an introduction by Professor Christopher Maurer to the problems and challenges faced by translators of Lorca.

This book has not been revised from the original. *** USA TODAY® Bestselling author Maggie McGinnis welcomes us back to Montana's Whisper Creek Ranch, where fairy tales can come true … Yoga instructor Jessalyn Alcott radiates peace, calm, and serenity—on the outside. Inside, she still feels like the broken, desperate girl from the trailer park. She’s got dark secrets she can’t share, which is why she never lets her relationships go beyond the third date. But when she travels to the Whisper Creek dude ranch for a friend’s wedding, Jess is enchanted by a cowboy whose deep blue eyes, dimpled smile, and rock-hard body make it tough to remember why she keeps running scared. Cole Driscoll has struggled to find his place on a family ranch where he’s always played second fiddle. His future might be uncertain, but he’s sure of one thing: He wants Jess by his side. But when it comes to getting close, she’s full of excuses, and he longs to fix the hurt he sees in her eyes. Now that she’s at Whisper Creek, there’s nothing he wants more than to break down the walls around her heart and heal her pain with the power of love.
