El trabajo aborda la problemática de las distintas etapas de un meta-analisis desde una perspectiva multivariante. Se demuestra la eficacia de los métodos biplot como técnica de caracterización de los estudios e identificación de juicios discordantes en la fase de codificación así como el papel que juegan los gráficos factoriales y los gráficos multivariantes (estrellas, caras de chernoff, curvas de Andrews, etc.) en la fase de análisis de resultados. Se propone un procedimiento jerárquico basado en las ideas de Hedges y Olkin (1965) y en las propuestas por Morgan y Sonqvist (1963) para detectar la heterogeneidad de los tamaños del efecto, así como el uso del modelo factorial para seleccionar las variables mas relacionadas con el tamaño del efecto, las cuales serán utilizadas en el procedimiento jerárquico hecho este que disminuye drásticamente el riesgo tipo j. el trabajo termina con una propuesta para la integración de configuraciones euclideas y estructuras factoriales obtenidas a partir de estudios primarios.
