Book Description
Crossing Frontiers is an autobiography. It starts with a short historical background of the author’s home country, Germany, as it refers to his story. Growing up during the depression and under Hitler’s National Socialists, he saw the Third Reich rise and fall. He relates interesting and humorous events from his school time, his training in the Hitler youth, labor force and military. In riveting details, he describes his war experiences, his return to his home in search of his mother. He points out the dangers he encountered living under Russian and Polish rule and later being expelled. He describes the situation in Germany after the war, illustrating it from his experience in refugee camps in East Germany, and his escape to West Germany. He compares university life in Germany, where he studied for his degree in architecture and the USA where he studied on a scholarship for a year. He narrates his adventures, hitchhiking through the United States, masterfully. His story ends with his decision to immigrate to Canada.

Book Description
David Bosch (1929-1992) was one of the foremost mission theologians of the twentieth century, at once a prolific scholar, committed church leader, and active participant in the global conciliar and evangelical mission movements. Less well known is Bosch's distinctive role in the South African church's struggle against apartheid. After reviewing Bosch's background and exploring key themes in his understanding of mission and evangelism, Livingston explores Bosch's legacy from the perspective of the missionary nature of the church. The church is God's kingdom community, acting as a witness to and instrument of the coming reign of God. The church is God's alternative community, simultaneously set apart from the world but also for the sake of the world, exemplifying the radical implications of Christ's new community. The church is God's reconciled and reconciling community, serving as a sign and embodiment of God's love in Christ. For those acquainted with Bosch only as the author of his magisterial Transforming Mission, Livingston shows how Bosch integrated his theology and practice in a faithful, contextually relevant way within South Africa and the global church.

Book Description
What happens when the definition of missions becomes murky? Everything becomes missions and everyone becomes a missionary, but are we really fulfilling the Great Commission? Denny Spitters and Matthew Ellison tackle this provocative question and challenge readers to reexamine their definitions and recommit to a biblical vision of global evangelism.
