Excerpt from Minutes of the Twenty-Eighth Annual Session of the Unity Baptist Association: Held With Shiloh Baptist Church, Chilton County, Ala;, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 29, 30 and Oct, 1, 1882 The twenty-eighth annual session of the Unity Baptist Association, was held with Shiloh church, Chilton county, Alabama, commencing on Friday, the 29th day of September, 1882. At 11 o'clock a.m. Elder A. Andrews preached the Introductory Sermon, from 6th chapter of Mark, a part of the 50th verse: "Be of good cheer; it is I, be not afraid." After an intermission of one hour for dinner, the Messengers from the churches assembled in the church building. Elder J. Falkner, the Moderator of the last session, called the body to order, and after reading the 2d Psalm and singing the hymn, "Ye Servants of the Lord," prayer was offered by Elder G. W. Mills. Excerpt from Minutes of the Forty-Sixth Annual Session of the Unity Baptist Association: Held With Jemison Baptist Church, October 10th and 11th, 1900 Second: That to this end, and for this purpose, we need a competent Associational Missionary and Colporter, whose duty it shall be to give his whole time to this work; visiting destitute sections, preaching, lecturing, distributing Bibles and denominational literature, and doing everything possi ble to bring our people into closer touch with each other and the great work committed to our hands. Third: That such Missionary shall receive, as compon sation for the diligent employment of his time, per annum. Fourth: That this sum be apportioned among the churches according to their numerical strength and financial ability, and that such apportionment be collected monthly and sent direct to the Treasurer of the Unity Association. Fifth: That all moneys hitherto contributed to State Missions be applied to this work. Sixth: That the Treasurer be instructed to pay to said Missionary, from the funds placed in his hands for this work, the sum of per month upon the presentation of a war rant signed by the chairman of the Executive Committee. Seventh: That the messengers composing this session be, and are hereby, requested to represent this matter to their respective churches, at their next regular conference for their ratification, and report the result to the Executive Committee at once. A committee on Divine services was appointed, con sisting of Brethren L. Wilkinson, J. C. Wells and the delegates of this church. Visitors were then called for, when Bro. J. G. Hare ris, of Montgomery, was introduced by Bro. P. M. Lal laway. Bro. Harris made a short, but very impressive talk upon the unity of the brotherhood. After which the tune How Firm a Foundation was sung and prayer by Bro. P. M. Callaway. Correspondence was then called for. From Salem, D. C. Allen, E. Brooks; Montgomery, J. G. Harris; Zion, J. M. Robinson; Haw Ridge, E. Hayes, Lewis Moseley. The Modera tor was granted time to prepare and announce the committees of the present session. L'ix the time of meeting and adjourning. Meet at a.
