Book Description
Talib, a sixteen-year-old Palestinian, miraculously survives the Cave of the Patriarchs massacre, a travesty that kills his father. Escaping the conflict in the Middle East, Talib is offered solace in the luxury of a wealthy familys mansion home where he meets two enigmatic sisters, Kate and Fiona. Despite their beauty, innocence, and sophistication, these sisters are not at all what Talib imagined. Their occult practices and devotion to a mission handed down to them by the Enlightened Titans, a fraternal secret society, throw Talib into a conflict between his Islamic upbringing and the cosmological possibility that there is more to the universe than what a religious text offers. If this is not enough, Talib learns that he has more to offer, and the two sisters may take it unless he volunteers it.

Book Description
In common folklore, angels or malaikah are thought of as good forces of nature, hologram images, or illusions. Western iconography sometimes depicts angels as fat cherubic babies or handsome young men or women with a halo surrounding their head. In Islamic doctrine, they are real created beings who will eventually suffer death, but are generally hidden from our senses. They are not divine or semi-divine, and they are not God's associates running different districts of the universe. Also, they are not objects to be worshipped or prayed to, as they do not deliver our prayers to God. They all submit to God and carry out His commands. In the Islamic worldview, there are no fallen angels: they are not divided into 'good' and 'evil' angels. Human beings do not become angels after death. Satan is not a fallen angel, but is one of the jinn (demon), a creation of God parallel to human beings and angels. Angels were created from light before human beings were created, and thus their graphic or symbolic representation in Islamic art is rare. Nevertheless, they are generally beautiful beings with wings as described in Muslim scripture. The Arabic word Jinn is from the verb 'Janna' and means to hide or conceal. The Jinn or Demon are so called because they conceal themselves from people's sight. The words janeen (foetus) and mijann (shield) come from the same root. Jinn or demon, as the name suggests, are normally invisible to humans. The jinn are part of God's creation. They were created from fire before the creation of Adam and humankind. And indeed, We created man from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud. And the jinn (Demon), We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire (Quran 15:26-27) According to the traditions of Prophet Muhammad the angels were created from light, the jinn from fire and humankind from "what has been described to you." (meaning clay) God created the angels, jinn and humankind for no other purpose then to worship Him. "I did not create the Jinn and mankind except to worship Me." (Quran 51:56) Jinn exist in our world but they live on their own. Jinn have their own distinct nature and features and they generally remain hidden from humankind. Jinn and humans do have some common traits, the most important of which is free will and with it the ability to choose between good and evil, right and wrong. The jinn eat and drink, they marry, have children and die.

Book Description
The magnificent title story of this collection of fairy tales for adults describes the strange and uncanny relationship between its extravagantly intelligent heroine--a world renowned scholar of the art of story-telling--and the marvelous being that lives in a mysterious bottle, found in a dusty shop in an Istanbul bazaar. As A.S. Byatt renders this relationship with a powerful combination of erudition and passion, she makes the interaction of the natural and the supernatural seem not only convincing, but inevitable. The companion stories in this collection each display different facets of Byatt's remarkable gift for enchantment. They range from fables of sexual obsession to allegories of political tragedy; they draw us into narratives that are as mesmerizing as dreams and as bracing as philosophical meditations; and they all us to inhabit an imaginative universe astonishing in the precision of its detail, its intellectual consistency, and its splendor. "A dreamy treat.... It is not merely strange, it is wondrous." --Boston Globe "Alternatingly erudite and earthy, direct and playful.... If Scheherazade ever needs a break, Byatt can step in, indefinitely." --Chicago Tribune "Byatt's writing is crystalline and splendidly imaginative.... These [are] perfectly formed tales." --Washington Post Book World

Book Description
Rashin joined the others in the recitation they always said before they ate: “We are the invisible hand of justice, the caretakers of humanity, the voice of reason when the world becomes unreasonable.” Rashin believed in those words. Anton D. Morris has concocted not only a swiftly-paced suspense churner, he has also constructed a compelling premise about people’s lot in life-how they got where they are-and whether or not they have the wherewithal to change life as they know it. Pacific Book Review Rashin is part of a Black secret society. He has a daughter and two sons. Cassandra’s a scrupulous lawyer. Jason runs an international company. Horus runs for President of the United States. Horus has wit, charm, voter’s confidence, and a troubling family secret that an upstart journalist wants to Expose. Morris has created more here than just another political potboiler. His examination of black families’ ties to one another challenges readers to think twice about their own deeply held convictions ... Morris deftly interweaves socioeconomic theory and good old-fashioned storytelling. He keeps readers involved to the very end or perhaps even longer. -Recommended by Premium US Review of Books

Book Description
If you fear one thing in life, fear the djinn. This groundbreaking book presents the findings of Rosemary Ellen Guiley and Philip J. Imbrogno's investigation into the powerful and mysterious interdimensional beings known as djinn or genies. It reveals what the djinn are, where they can be found--and their hidden agenda against the human race. Working with material compiled from a variety of sources--including their own case files, Middle Eastern lore, the Qur'an, teachings of Islamic scholars, and the latest theories in quantum physics--the authors explore the relationship between the djinn, demons, fairies, shadow people, and extraterrestrials. They discuss the military's interest in these clandestine beings, offer eyewitness accounts of modern human encounters with the djinn, and reveal the location of interdimensional entry points in North America.
